kINGS VERSION 2006-2007

G-League
- Keep Mike Bibby, Ronnie Price, Kevin Martin, Ron Artest, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Corliss Williamson and Jamal Sampson.

- Resign Bonzi Wells for 4 years with $36,000,000 ($9,000,000 a year).

- Trade Brad Miller and Jason Hart for Tyson Chandler and Chris Duhon.

- Trade Francisco Garcia and the 19th pick draft for Eddie Griffin.

- Trade Kenny Thomas for Dan Gadzuric.

- Trade Serguei Monia and Vitaly Potapenko for Arvydas Macijauskas.

The new Kings:
- Bibby/Duhon/Price
- Wells/Martin/Macijauskas
- Artest/Wells
- Abdur-Rahim/Griffin/Williamson
- Chandler/Gadzuric/Sampson

I can do without Corliss honestly, and I want to keep Francisco. I'd like to see Serguei develop some and Vitaly honestly wouldn't be bad back up center. He has this nice short turnaround jumper. He really should have been worked into the system more last season so he could have played in the playoffs. I think he could have done the Kings some good.

I would like to keep Garcia and Monia. But, we need a shooter (Macijauskas) and I am very interested in Griffin.
About Potapenko, I think Griffin and Gadzuric better for the Kings.

I like this plan. The best part of it is the Brad/Hart for Chandler/Duhon. I hope I wake up one day and see the trade to down...

I would love bringing in Duhon, not just because he's from Duke, but because we would really need a backup PG like him. My only concern is his off-season back surgery that he just had.

I actually like this plan alot. One of the better ones I've seen in a long time. This gives us alot of versatility, a couple of shotblockers, players who can spread the floor, and a deep bench. I might want to start Griffin over SAR to spread the floor.

Good plan but Garcia and the 19th pick is too much for Griffin IMHO and I don't think the Bucks would do Gadzuric for Thomas. I'd also rather have Monia than Macijauskas.

That's not a bad plan, although that's giving up too much for Griffin.

Nonetheless, it would be amazing how much our interior defense would improve if we actually, you know, traded for a few interior defenders. I know the Maloofs have chosen not to believe you need defensive personnel to play defense or whatever, but its been known to make a slight difference occasionally.

I don't understand why the Bucks wouldn't do Gadzuric for Thomas. They have same contractsand Milwaukee are looking for a athletic pf. If they want a short contract, we can do Williamson for Gadzuric.

Monia has the same game than Wells and Artest. The Kings don't need another bulldozer. THEY NEED A 3 POINTS SHOOTER AND MACIJAUSKAS IS THE PERFECT PLAYERS FOR THAT.

I agree that's giving up too much for Griffin (he shot 35% last year!?!?), but I like the plan as a whole. That's bringing in a lot of athletic big men who can block shots so the defense could be pretty nasty. It puts a LOT of pressure on our smalls to score the basketball though. Chandler, Gadzuric, and Griffin are pretty much useless on the offensive side of the ball. I am not really sure if the Bulls would go for the Chandler trade either. I'd like Gadzuric for Thomas though.

I like the overall plan, but that's a seriously offensively challenged frontline. I think if you get Chandler and Gadzuric you don't add Griffin to the mix, particularly not for Garcia and the pick -- shotblocking is great, but at some point you're giving up too many options on offense. But I like the Miller for Chandler trade (although I don't know that the Bulls would give up Duhon) and the Gadzuric for Thomas trade.

The Bucks won't do Gadzuric for Thomas because they are looking to trade Magloire. They want to keep Gadzuric and his solid contract around so he can back up Bogut. Adding KT does nothing for them, he's no better than Joe Smith. I wouldn't say Monia is a bulldozer in the form of Artest/Wells, but you do have a good point in bringing in Macijauskas as a three point shooter. I'd tinker with it a little bit but it's a good plan! :)

Monia/Potapenko is too much for an unproven SG in Arvydas. Probably a bit too much for Griffin, and not sure if we could get Gadz for KT.

I like the idea of the roster though.

Chris Duhon had surgery on his lumbar spine this morning at Rush University Medical Center.

The surgery was performed by Dr.’s Howard An and Brian Cole.

The surgery to remove a herniated disc went well and without complication.

Duhon will rest at home for the next several days before beginning rehabilitation. He is expected to make a full recovery and return to full basketball activity next season.

Another trading chip the Kings have that no one really talks about is Corliss, Vitaly, and Jason Hart. Their total is about 11 million. A team thats rebuilding could dump a contract to get into the free agent mix next year. I'm not really thrilled about bringing in more salary, but with the contracts to Miller, Bibby, and Kenny Thomas it would be like 2010 before we were under the salary cap.

I think the Kings must keep Garcia. Look at the difference between Kevin Martin's first and second seasons; Garcia still has a lot to learn and a lot of potential... we saw glimpses this season; next year could be his break-out season...

Let's keep Corliss and Francisco.

Corliss is the glue to the team.

He will always be a big apart of the King's chemistry.

Corliss is an expiring contract. It's highly likely he will not be back after that contract expires.

I think Price has potential. So far, the only thing about Jamal has been his Kings legacy from his uncle Ralph.

Sampson never got time under Rick other than garbage time. He's an athletic rebounder/shot-blocker, can score around the basket a bit (not just from garbage time in Sac). I bet if he's still around as a 3rd big, he'd get time with the new coach. I'd like to see it.

Similar for Price, only he got to play regular minutes in some games. Showed some things overall in his first year, quick on defense/athletic/some shooting. I think he'll get more time next season. Petrie has stated a number of times he really likes Price.

I'd love to see Sampson get more of a chance to prove himself. It would be great if he's allowed to do so. I was just saying that, so far, there hasn't been much to gauge him from, other than some real garbage time minutes.

It would never EVER take the 19th AND Garcia to get Griffin from the Wolves.

I like the end result of the team, and I think Whis could work with this unit.

AMEN ALLELUIA to these quotes! These quotes says it all! But I would love to send Garcia and #19 to Toronto for their #1 to pick Aldridge.

I like it but you are giving up too much for Griffin and I would like to keep Cisco. He is one player who can shoot the 3 and spread the floor. I think he will be a vital player in our rotations next season. He will only get better.

Overall, I like that team :)
