[Game] Kings v. Thunder - 4/20/12

That's not what you said bud. You drew a comparison between Harden and Thornton. I said that is not an accurate comparison. He is very much like a Terry or Crawford. The problem is that those guys are successful when they get to be the #2 option off the bench and can just come in and put up shots. We're finding out that Thornton does not fit with the current Kings roster

I disagree a little in that I won't sit here and say this player or that player doesn't fit, when the coach isn't using anyone properly. Think you have to put players in a position to succeed, play to their strengths, lock down a rotation, give them some time to get used to it, and at that point it's much easier to tell if a player doesn't fit.

But when roles, sub patterns, and lineups switch from game to game? Tough to blame the players.

I'm serious. I think Smart (or others in the org) are thinking about this draft. They don't want to win. The alternative possibility is too depressing for me to think about.

Well, Smart looked like he wanted to win when he was jumping up and down and got the tech.

That's just backing up your main guy. I think he can jump up and down and tank at the same time.

I actually think Smart is trying his best to win these games, but he's such a poor decision maker and manager of a game it strongly suggests tanking. Just my opinion though.

You're probably right. But that's just too scary for me to contemplate right now...

We'll know for sure soon enough. Charlotte Bobcats at 7-55 w/ 19 game losing streak...

Well you gota admit if we could pull that one off it would be pretty epic.

Charlotte Home Record: 4-27
Sacramento Road Record: 5-26

The ultimate stoppable force vs. moveable object game.

ESPN announcer: And in the ultimate NBA battle, the Sacramento Kings and the Charlotte Bobcats played 47 minutes 54 seconds of scoreless basketball before an errant pass by Tyler Honeycutt bounced off the head of Francisco Garcia and into the basket, allowing the Kings to eke out a hard-fought 2-0 win.

I did no such thing. I said that seeing players like Harden come off the bench make me want to shoot myself in the head, as this flies in direct opposition of those who claim that you can't have one of your best offensive players come off the bench. I didn't compare their games in any way, shape or form. But, if you want to claim that I compared them, fine. Here is the "comparison" that I made between Harden and Thornton, in its entirety:

Harden is one of OKC's three best offensive players. Thornton is one of SAC's three best offensive players.

There. End of comparison. I made no effort to take it any further than that.

And, I'll agree with rainmaker regarding the "fit." We don't know that the pieces don't fit. The only thing that we know is that the coach we have right now is not capable of making them fit.

LOl, thanks for the line. That stop my BP from going up reading this thread.
