Welcome, fellow Kings fans!

Well, tonight's game should be interesting.

"These three games this week will be a great barometer for the team to see where it is at and maybe for us to learn what it is we need to improve to get better," Adelman said. "I do know if we get back (on defense) the way we did in Portland, it's going to be a long night."

My keys to the game are:

1. Trap "Mighty Mouse." EDIT: Mash Steve Nash.
2. Do whatever it takes to stop Amare.
3. Score more points than the Suns.

I'm pretty sure if we can do those three, we'll win. ;)

I've washed my lucky socks, purple slippers, Kings shirt and Bibby jersey. The icons have been taken down and cleaned thoroughly and put back in their respective places. The Kings blankey is ready, and I've given my fingers a good rest with just a light practice the last couple of days to make sure I'm ready for the game.

**Commercial Break**
I'm able to do the play-by-play (PBP) thread for everyone because our board owner, Jeremy, is a dedicated and generous Kings fan who keeps this site up and running. If you would like to help defray some of the costs associated with this herculean task, please consider becoming a Contributing Member. We have a thread stickied at the top of the forum with information. You do NOT need to become a CM to enjoy the forums here at Kingsfans.
**End Commercial Break**

As always, we offer several options for fans to enjoy sharing the game experience. You can participate in an ongoing discussion in the game thread started by piksi. In addition, you can join our chat at mIRC, server: irc.bludgeon.org, channel: #Kingsfans.

If you're new to the PBP thread, welcome! Always glad to be able to help another Kings fan follow the game. All I ask is that you make your comments, discussion, etc. in piksi's game thread. That way, the flow of the PBP isn't disrupted. We have fans who do not have access to either radio or TV broadcasts, so this is the best way for them to follow the game.

A few hours until game time. I have snacks to prepare, firewood to bring in, etc. Let's all think really good thoughts and send positive energy to the Kings!

GO KINGS!!!!!

:D

Suprisingly, if we do just #3 we'll win. ;)

my thoughts exactly. Mighty Mouse has been damons nickname for a while he even has it tatted on his arm.

Webber said he knows what the Suns are going to do. "They are going to give the ball to Mighty Mouse," he said of point guard Steve Nash, who leads the league in assists, "and then let him dribble around and make a play. It's like when Jason (Williams) was here. That was the easiest scoring I ever had with him doing his thing."

That's from the McNeal article in today's Bee. Hence my use of it..

I've changed my original post, however. If you want to argue about the use of the nickname, please use a different thread.

;)

House Party has started.

They're doing a feature piece on Steve Nash. I don't get a rat's patoot about Steve Nash. If I did, I'd be a Suns fan.

This sudden fascination by both print and broadcast media with feature stories about our opponents is yucky IMHO. I'd much rather see expanded features about our own guys. How about a piece on Webber and the work he's doing with the Crocker Art Museum?

Pfffffffffffffttttt!!!!!

Grant and Jerry are talking with Geoff Petrie.

Geoff Petrie - I'm really disappointed, Grant, to be honest that none of our guys were recognized this year (for the All-Star team).

I think our guys were deserving. It just didn't work out so now the thing to do is go out and do it on the court.

About Cat:

I think to this point he has come in and played a critical part in a lot of games. He's a good spirit and a basketball junkie.

About the Kings getting better:

We're a very good offensive team. We're an unselfish team. For us to get better, we need to become even more unselfish. We have players who can put up 25-40 points. We aren't selfish. We just need to be more unselfish.

About Webber:

I think WEbber is light-years ahead of how he came back last season. There are still times when his knee is going to be problematic but he's much further along and he's still improving. He's a very fine player; a very productive player.

ABout Barnes and Evans:

Coming into the season, looking at our bench we only had one player who was even here a year ago. It's been a great coaching job and credit to the players for coming in and learning to fit in. It should bode well for us as we head to the playoff part of the season.

About the NBA:

I think there are certain things going on right now - traditional post play is not nearly as dominant. Just like college - 3 point shooting has become a huge factor, a deciding factor when you break it down and look at it. Phoenix is good at that; we're good at it.

What's your secret to being a successful GM?

I think we've got a great staff of people, number one, and we have a great sense of shared responsibility. We try to make great basketball and we've had the support of Joe and Gavin. And we've avoided the big mistakes and that's important.

We have a full roster (with the obvious exceptions of Erik Daniels and Bobby Jackson). Watching the guys warm up behind Grant and Jerry, both Cat and Pedja look a lot better than they did in the warm ups against the TrailBlazers.

I am optimistic. What else can I be?

I am Kings fan!!!

:D

I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!
