--SLAB's Take--
Well, as like yesterday's game, there was a sprinkle of the good the Kings can do...But there was a plethora of bad.
Pretty much all the shining points of yesterday took a step back to either nothing or a negative force on the Kings.
Lets review.
--The Good!--
--Doug Christie---Great to see him back. I'm not his biggest fan, but he is a DEFINATE improvment over Maurice Evans/Kevin Martin. Played well in his rather limited minutes, which is great to see.
--Mike Bibby---Coming off an off game, shoots 9-13, for 23 points. Did have the ball stolen a bit, though. Also played Parker pretty darn well.
--The Bad...--
--Chris Webber---Definatly forced A LOT of stuff in this game. Be it outside, inside, or wherever. Didn't seem to wanna play inside to much. Did have some nifty moves, but overall yuck. Not good.
--Peja---An improvment over yesterday, shooting-wise. But there were a couple of opprotunities where a rebound just bounced on by him. Did not hustle for loose ball. Also disappeared in the third for a bit....Which is sadly pretty common.
--Brad Miller---Only took six shots. Against an inside center like Nesterovic you can freely take that jumper all night...Seemed to lose a lot of easy rebounds, too.
--The Bench---3-13 overall. Led with a 1-8 with Bobby Jackson. No one on the bench played particularly well, spare Songaila. Barnes missed layups, but did hustle, Jackson was just awful, Ostertag's hands were made of lead, Evans and Martin were non-factors.
--Rebounding---A horrible rebounding game. 37-54. No one seemed to hustle for the loose ball, rebounds were being slapped away, putbacks...You name it. Nothing went right for the Kings on the rebounding end.
---Final Thoughts---
Overall, not a great game. However, if you put the combined goods from today and yesterday, we would be in business. Hopefully that will be meshing together in the near future.
0-2 may sound bad, but we have a tough beginning of the year. If it all evens out hopefully, we will finish the season with a bang. We have nothing to worry about just yet. Kings will get it together!
