[Game] Kings v. Spurs - 2/24/16 - 7 PT, 10 ET

Rondo keeps going under Parker screens and just giving him practice jump shots...Gay can't stick to his man to save his life and Cousins starts getting aggravated because he isn't getting calls. Great effort, play Acy and Trill more please, oh wait...Karl's still here, nevermind.

That escalated quickly. I went to go grab a bottle of water and they were only down 6 when I walked away. Their bench >>>> ours.
Yes, this was largely a loss because of poor bench play at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth. Same as last night, but the King's had the lead last night before the meltdown.

Maybe time to mix up the rotation a bit.

Alridge is no Duncan and Pop can't coach forever. He's the mastermind.

I read somewhere before the season started that Pop was still planning on coaching for another 4-5 years so expect the dominance to continue until he hangs the coat up.

Ummm they have some guy named Leonard whose pretty damn good.

Definitely.
But Pop is the reason they are who they are. the respect of the players and the control of the locker room is all Greg Poppovich. Take him out of there and you're looking at a completely different team.

I think it's already proven that we're not going to beat the Spurs slowing it down. How did dumping it down to Cousins in the post go for us eh? I interpreted his comments more as whoever gets to play at their pace. Spurs want to play slow. They want to kill you in a halfcourt game. A fast pace may not be a viable strategy overall but against this particular team in this game I dare say it's our best shot.
I don't. Fast pace just happens to be the only play in Karl's playbook. I blame the first half on Karl not being any good at coaching halfcourt offense. What we were running was so pedestrian and transparent that a far lesser coach than Gregg Popovich could have shut us down.

In all honesty, Duncan was better off sitting this game out, he didn't score a basket and barely played at all in the second half

How you lose by 15 points when your starting point guard has 18 assists completely blows my mind.

Kings usually lose when Rondo has these high assist games...those numbers are too inflated. I'd rather him have 15-18 points and 10 assists than 6 points and 18 assists

Care to elaborate?
I think that the sentence is axiomatically wrong. NBA refs are the best in American pro sports. This is not the same thing as saying that they're particularly good. But, they're better than the other guys.

Basketball is the fastest sport played in the US. No other sports' referees could be half as accurate when trying to deal with the speed of this game.

all the Spurs had to do was play good for a 3-4 minute stretch and that was good enough to seal the game....seen this time and time again versus these Spurs match ups. It's like punching in and out day to day.

Welp...

Quincy Acy had a nice showing anyway. He's a player. I hope we keep him for awhile.

I'd love for the team to bring in another player or two with the fight and heart of Acy or something of that mold. I can root for that and go to war with that...but this? this is just torture.
