[Game] Kings v. Lakers - 3/30/13

my last post about thre game for the night as im still really pissed....
it's quite funny...they the lakers don't get by the wolves or the kings without bs calls within a minute to go. wolves had all the momentum and would've won it in OT. Kings were just jobbed

Everybody knows that NBA is a double-standard, hypocritical league. Always has been, always will be.

The NBA's poster child team, the Lakers, are barely clinging to playoff life and were in desperate need of a win so they didn't lose ground to the Utah Jazz, who won tonight. Up by three with under :24 to go, no way DeMarcus gets that call. However, if roles were reversed and the Lakers had been down by three and Kobe pulls that same exact move, you absolutely KNOW he would have been going to the line with a chance to tie.

That's where the double standard and hypocrisy comes into play. But the letter of the law, that wasn't a foul. Howard pretty much went straight up and Cousins leaned into him. Cousins initiated the contact. However, depending upon the player, the team, and the situation, they will call that a foul. Bryant, the Lakers, and then fact that they need the win to make the playoffs pretty much dictates that the call not be made for Cousins and the Kings. But as I already stated, same game, same post season implications but the Lakers are down 3 and Kobe does what DeMarcus did and he shoots 3 free throws.

It's a sad reality, but one we old school Kings fans are accustomed to seeing. Remember Kobe's forearm to Mike Bibby's face in Game 6? Remember how often Shaq dislodged our post defenders and was rarely, if ever, called for it? Same logic outlined above applies. The players and team involved, combined with the circumstances dictated that we didn't get those calls.

BTW, I thought the call Kobe got the possession before -- when Salmons barely grazed his elbow before he elevated for the shot and they waited til WAY after he missed the shot to call the foul -- was more egregious than the no call on Howard. Tyreke gets hammered by 3 defenders, but no call yet Kobe gets that call? Gimme a break. But it's par for the course when you play the NBA's favorite son. They can't ever be cellar dwellers. The League simply won't allow it.

he isnt the only one who rigs games.... i know most of you dont believe tim donaghy but why else does the league make that no call against la and minny when kobe fouled rubio the sad sorry the next day? its obvious why...
Would you do us all a favor and either learn what proof reading is, or go back to school and take grammar 101.

I'll give you a tip. If you ever want to be taken seriously around here, learn how to type coherently. We have fans who speak English as a second language who come across in a much more coherent manner.

I did not have feeling that game was overly tilted. Little bit, but much less than usual.

There was definitely more lean (unnecessarily) in Cus move than Duncans. It could've gone either way.
It did not help his case that second earlier he exaggerated contact when Lakers guard ran by him.

It would've been 2 free throws not 3 anyway, didn't referees new that they can let that slide

On the other hand, the last foul on Coby and his reaction, lol, now that was ridiculous.

I agree. I thought that call on Kobe was worse. If either call had happened by itself it would just be bad luck. But to have it happen on practically back to back plays is really hard to swallow. Not to mention the feeling of dejavu all over again.

In NBA history, there have only been 8 small market champions. One of them, you may have heard, is by the Rochester Royals. 4 are by the Spurs. 2 by the Bucks. The rest of them- the Suns, the Grizzlies, the Pacers, the Cavaliers, the Nets, the list goes on and on- have never won a Championship. In fact, only half of all NBA teams have won an NBA championship at some point in history.
