[Game] Kings v. Clippers - 4/17/13

Tribute was great! Man, the memories.
From Ricky Berry to Tis. Then the JWill juke which I will NEVER EVER FORGET. Then I get to hear the emotion in G-mans voice as he's signing off and I can't help but feel a little sad.

Word on Twitter is that the fans are not leaving Sleep Train. The court was roped off so no one is on it, but a large number of fans are still there, not wanting the night to end.

WE ARE SACRAMENTO!!!

Forty minutes. Thousands still here. Some players came out to toss T-shirts and frisbees into the crowd. Bobby Jackson addressing the fans.

Grant Napear ‏@GrantNapearshow 7m

All I want to say right now is THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the entire Clipper aftershow at Sleep Train, the fans were still there and the Clippers guys commented on it multiple times. Really cool to see.

of course espn showed highlights of our game but guess what they showed!!!

two dunks of griffen then the final score. not one mention of our team might be leaving lol

They always do that to us.
Even if we win they just say, "Well, the Kings won. Next up at 7!"

Jim Crandall at Sleep Train... Jason Thompson in the background, shaking Carmichael Dave's hands. THOUSANDS of fans still there. Chants of Jas-on Thomp-son. Cowbells ring. Crandall reports on the game and then shows a clip of Chuck Hayes, Demarcus and Thornton - all saying that Sacramento deserves their Kings. Crandall switches to talking about baseball but you can still hear the chants from STA in the background. If they had any sense, they would just let the cameras roll. This sends a powerful message.

I'm two hours away from Arco. They're dimming the lights now, according to Twitter folk, trying to get the peeps to leave. But it's still not happening. Crandall says there are still about 2,000 people there.

Fifty minutes. Someone send out for pizza.

Thanks bud.

having lived in LA for years and being subjected to the LA broadcasters, i realize that was not funny and i would wish that on no one. That being said i still have no idea how to post video. Sorry.

I'm told a guy from Carmichael has a giant camper in the parking lot with a lot of purple lettering on the side. Maybe he can cook in there.

Note: For those who don't know, Scott Howard-Cooper (or Scoop) is a former Kings beat writer for the Sacramento Bee.

No. the techs are only for this year and reset for the playoffs. The only time it goes to next year is for a suspension for drugs, flagrant, fighting etc.

Grant said that the technical would carry over to opening night next year.

11 p.m. and people are being asked to leave. A couple thousand people on the way out of Sleep Train just about one hour after the finish.

I really hope Cousins breaks out next year. Maybe a new coach (someone he can respect, connect to, and have a better relationship with), added veteran influence, roster changes, and putting the whole ownership thing behind him can help him unlock his potential.

Do you know what I think would be a good idea? Convincing Rasheed Wallace to come out of retirement for a 1-yr deal as a player coach. SAC will have the cap space to offer him an above-market value salary (like 2-3 mil). He can play alongside Cousins, and also help him mature.

That is quite possibly the most insane idea I've heard all year. Sheed? Seriously? That guy possesses all the traits we want Boogie to eliminate and has never done so himself. Never got over his problems with the refs or the league, never capitalised on his potential as a lowpost player and remains one of the great underachievers. That's the guy you want to teach Cuz?
