Wow. We have 275+ guests online here. Why don't a few of them sign up? Don't want guests to cause the server to crash if this AK deal goes through.

Wow 15/16 teams in the Hunt and Grant says we got a 50/50 chance?

Hopefully teams interested and actual offers made are different

And Grant says something should happen this weekend?

Hopefully we are one of the bigger actual offers and only several I hope!

well I am offcially discouraged that 15/16 teams are trying to get him. I mean why choose us?
Good fit. Young, talented, up and coming team. Lots of $. Small market guy, loved time in Utah. For a guy who's split career between Utah and Russia,we'd offer the best weather. High Russian population in Sac.

If the Kings really made him a "great offer", that's why. I highly doubt 15 other teams are seriously pursuing him. There are probably 15 teams who would like to have him but that's a lot different from making him an actual serious offer.

Well, and the Kings have the advantage of being able to exceed the MLE. I also remember hearing he wanted to play in California, so....

I've been saying this since the end of last season...with a couple of other smart moves, along with getting AK47...that would propel us to be a VERY good and exciting team again!

If you’ve got a bunch of guys that can put points on the board, Evans, Thornton, Cousins, Jimmer, and even Salmons … and you had a good young center in Cousins.

It does make a lot of sense to have a rotation of forwards with varying skill sets to throw around. Hayes alone didn’t make much sense. Having AK47, Hickson, Hayes, Thompson does make a lot of sense.

I really like AK47 as a big forward on this team, but you can move him to small forward at any time. You could afford to put Salmons in the backcourt occasionally on nights when you want him to chase Kobe or Eric Gordon. At other times, you could roll out Jimmer, Thornton, and Evans together. It’s a logical and very flexible roster.

It won’t matter next year, because it’s a growth year in a cluster season, but you better have a really good coach for that team. With all of those options and players, you better have a coach that can push all the right buttons and command the respect that is needed to get players to sacrifice minutes for wins.

So which personnel package would you be happier with:
1.) Cousins, Dalembert, & Casspi
2.) Cousins, Hickson, Hayes, & AK

Provided we're able to bring in AK, that is the question that needs to be answered when reviewing how well the Kings Organization handled it's cap space and free-agency.

Great, another aging, frequently injured veteran who will probably be overpaid and the team praying to unload him in a few years.
Not to mention his low career 3pt%. If he starts at SF over Salmons, teams will just pack the paint again and Salmons will become useless off the bench.

You should look at his spot up shooting statistics from the last couple years. I posted them awhile ago. You'd be surprised how great a spot up shooter AK is, after working with Hornacek. Defenses will not pacj the paint against AK. I can assure you of that.

Especially look at his clutch shooting %, and last 10 secs of shot clock shooting %. He improves as the pressure increases.
