Our Kings got into Portland very late last night, so I hope they hit the local Starbucks to make sure they're wide awake and alert for tonight's game.

More and more people seem to be realizing our Brad Miller isn't the same #52 we've seen the past couple of years. His work with Daniel Shapiro in the off-season and truly paid off so far, and he's arguably looking the best I've ever seen him in a Kings uniform. Warms the heart.

Bibby has a lot more spring in his step, Kevin is showing last year wasn't a fluke and the reason Petrie picked Quincy Douby may be coming into focus a little more.

We have a lot of things to watch and draw encouragement from, IMHO.

So, let's talk about the game...

I haven't got a chance to see them play quite yet( leauge pass). How is Francisco looking? Who looks like they are going to be the back up pg?

I have not really seen how oriene greene plays but has been impressed on how u guys say he has shown so far...is greene a fast player where he can guard quick point guards in the league? and so far does he play the point guard spot well?

I'm very impressed...

...with the enthusiastic, active team play and the emergence of an excellent, winning personality in the team in this preseason so far. It all goes back to the head coach setting the tone, as always, and Theus has done an outstanding job so far, as I expected him to do so.

I knew Theus 20+ years ago when the Kings were new in Sac; I attended the inaugural game and a number of games in the inaugural season. I got to know Theus when he came over to the now-gone nightclub, Confetti, and we would chat up life philosphy, play pool (I beat him), etc. I avoided talking about the NBA, which he appreciated, and instead focused on life stuff, of which he was happy to talk about, especially women. I was happy to share with him some information on my own expertise in various things and he was always interested and frequently asked questions to learn more. I won't convey the content of any of our conversations, as they are private and privileged, but I will say that he has always had a winning, positive attitude towards life and this is a natural outgrowth of his magnetic, powerful personality. I had the pleasure of stepping back and watching him interact with people many times and he has a natural, competent way with people in nearly any situation. Theus is a winner.

What a contrast with the little, bitty coach of last season...whathisname...don't wanna say his mussed-up name. When I saw that Theus was a candidate for coach of the Kings, I knew immediately that he'd get the job, based on his winning attitude, not to mention his NBA creds. He may not have been a Michael Jordan on the court, but he KNOWS the game and can relate to the players moment-to-moment during the games, as well as practices, not to mention off-court. Theus will be in the running for Coach of The Year soon, if not this year, guaranteed.

Getting Theus was a master stroke and this will have had the effect of saving the Kings franchise from years of misery and struggles. I'm a happy Kings fan now.

We're going to have a great season, folks, so it's time to party up and enjoy it.

So far it's going good, I cant wait until the season starts.
Cant wait for SAR and Spence to get healthy so we get a little bigger...

If Theus was a character on Heros, he would have the power of personality.

GO KINGS!

Greene has the ability to defend quick, athletic players as well as stronger power players it appears. It looks like he can defend the 1, 2, and 3 positions. He guards his own guys and then also gets into the passing lanes for steals. Against Utah he had a nice 2 points slashing to the basket. As far as running the team, he's been dumped by 2 teams for not being able to run the point and he doesn't shoot well. I think his skill set has a place on this team though. I'd go so far as to say that he's on par with Artest as a defender.

thanks for the info..i wanted 2 know how he is as a point guard because if he can then there would be no problem playing him along side douby making Q the 2 guard, while on defense greene defends the 2 guard switching Q to guard the point on defense

Good to hear Spencer talk aobut hisw surgery. Very positive taht the Dr. liked the look of the cartalege from the microfracture 5 years agao!

No PBP from VF21. I could see the storm clouds up her way driving hme from work. I imagine the snow may be coming down pretty good in the mountains. Might be interfering with her satellite reception.

the wuh? Anyway if we somehow win this it'll be quite good. Let's see how the second half goes... Oh I know how we can win! Plyometrics training!! Turn Bibby, Garcia, Douby, Moore, KT into frikin Josh Smith or something. DUNK THE BALL!!!!! STOP MISSING LAYUPS!!

The Kings were lucky last year that they could insert Salmons at SG, SF or even PG, as the most valuable 6th man they had.

After seeing him with some nice consistent play so far this pre-season the Kings are lucky he's back - maybe with a better outside shot - because he has soooo many other pure basketball skills.

Kinda getting tired of M.Moore's statline.. It's as bad as KT but w/o the rebounds.

Earlier today I jokingly pointed out that Greene and Douby were playing like some of our biggest guys, but tonight they're maintaining their positions as 2 of our top 3 rebounders (per minute played).

O. Green's dunk was not quite as electric as "the dunk" by Ronnie Price last season - but still nice. I think Green who is at least 2-3" taller than Price can possibly fill the bill better than Ronnie if he'd remained with the Kings this year.

well one of the reasons Prices dunk was more "electric" was because it was 1) @ ARCO 2) Over Boozer

But, nevertheless it was still a poster.
