[News] Kings trade Jonas to Denver for Saric

I'm guessing Dennis plays more minutes per game next year than Jonas did last year. This seems like a more serious attempt to build around Domas.

Signing JV always seemed like a weird move to me. Good player, but behind our best player. Why get a vet that doesn't improve team's competitiveness? Was neither a rebuilding move or a win-now move. Just a move for the sake of seeming busy for the boss. Or was it buying Domas a friend?

Hmmm could we get siakam now that the pacers might blow it up
Eh, he fizzled out towards the end of their run and I’m not sure how great he’ll be without Hali - especially out west. Even Haliburton and 3 Siakim’s wouldn’t scare anyone in this evil, incredibly difficult conference. They were great against OKC but i feel like that was more of an anomaly than anything

My goodness. I'm not even going to pretend to know what the hell the Kings front office is doing, at this point. Here's what I do know: every effort in the last twenty years to create "cap flexibility" in Sacramento has ended in disappointment. Unless Perry has some real magic up his sleeve, I'm expecting to be further disappointed.
Fair

Whats the willingness or ability to take a big swing at Kuminga? 25/4 (100M total) in a S/T for DDR straight up. We get younger, longer, more athletic, they get a short term rental in a player that can take a lot of the offensive load for their second unit and marshall the young guys in that unit but maintain long term flexibility for a piece they arent using. That actually helps us also balance the roster a bit and expand Keegans role.

Schroeder/Monk/Carter
Lavine /Keon
Keegan/Nique
Kuminga/Saric (if he stays)
Sabonis/Eubank/Maxime

Hopefully move lavine out for other pieces or picks and start Keon next to schroeder and monk behind keon at the 2.

Kuminga apparently already turned down a 5 year 150 million extension from the Warriors. He wants to get paid and don't be surprised if it's close to a max.

No one will pay him a max. And im not sure how many have a max to pay (except may the nets who just acquired MPJ). Kuminga wants to be featured and i believe was looking for. Around $30M. Id be down to give him $28M/yr for 4 if it meant getting off Lavine or DDR. I think he would be far more featured with us than GSW for sure. And getting close to his asking.

Disgusting!

The bad news for Kuminga is that his best season was worth about $21M on the open market, his career average is worth about $14M, and last year was worth $9M (though he was injured...still would have been under $15M if healthy at his production). He wants to get paid $30M in a year when every team has finally hit the cap wall and is starting to realize how badly this CBA is going to punish teams that overpay for players? Good luck.

I'm sure he's telling the Warriors that's what he wants, haha. Is he worth it? Yeah, no way, not at this point. I still think they've purposefully boxed him into a corner to just take the QO.

Curious If you win shares model accounts for scarcity? A 6’8” guy who can get those numbers to defend other 6’8” guys are much harder to find. Might be worth underweighting 6’4” and other players and overweighting wings 6’7” over.

Am I wrong? Have I been wrong for the past 5 years? If you could go back would you have done something different with the Davion, Prosper or Carter picks?
I didn't say you were wrong, but you are out here saying the same exact things for those five years. It gets old man. I guess you like to be right so much that you found a Kings message board and took the stance: "whatever they do won't work out" and of course you are eventually right most of the time.

Except you picked the one era in 20 seasons where the Kings were actually enjoyable to follow to do that. Like, if you can't just enjoy that without beating a dead horse then what's the point? Yeah, we get it, the Kings have 10 guards and will probably suck again. Now they added another one, so here you are saying the same things again. Congrats on being a genius! Now what?

It's a rule of thumb, it's not a model. So no, there is no account made for scarcity.

Can only dream - no one wants Lavine and old man Derozen. Kings would have to give up a pick or 2 as well.

He’s out of his mind but I’m sure someone will give it to him. Just don’t want it to be us because he needs to show me at least one full season of consistent play that would warrant such a deal. Not a random outburst of 35 points and then nothing for two weeks.

Klay Thompson all over again.

I don't know if Kuminga is worth more than his output so far because he was a poor fit on GS, or if he was a poor fit on GS because he just isn't that good at team basketball.
