Kings To Test Market For Miller

Hmmm, nothing new about this news I think. Everyone is expendable in this team anyways when you can acquire the likes of Garnet, Kobe, Chris Paul or even just an Oden.

....and teams throughout the league begin salivating at the mere thought of landing this 7 foot vet who plays like he is 6'2". I am sure they are all ready to part with their own young talent to secure this former All-Star.

Even though I know the above was said in sarcasm, Petrie might take that a little differently:
With a growing list of teams such as Miami, Chicago and Charlotte using undersized centers out of necessity, Miller will draw interest.

"My sense is that he's probably one of the best passing centers in the league," Petrie said. "He's skillful. He can facilitate offense. He's … a smart player. How many of those kinds of guys are there? You look around right now and there are at least three or four teams who are playing with 6-8 centers. Or at least they call them (centers)."

I'd rather have a 6'8" center who knows he's undersized and compensates with tough play, than a 7-footer who takes his own size for granted and plays like a grade-A wimp.

ala Paul Milsap

But, we know there is no chance of that happening

...and I mean 100% chance of that NOT happening

Maybe....Juuuuust maybe...

John Paxson gets a bad cold and is forced to call his good friend Isiah Thomas.

"Hey Isiah, can you cover GM duties for a few days for an old buddy?"
"Of course man, anything for a friend!"

...Whats the worst that could happen? John thinks to himself as he drifts off into a cold medicine induced slumber.

One day later Miller is suiting up in Chi town and Rose is playing for the Kings.

Nice one.:p

Hey, you'll never know. We got duped into signing up a "healthy" Abdur-Rahim before and getting the awesome talent of Kenny Thomas. All kinds of weird blunders can happen.:D

Odd thing to say, Geoff, right after F/C David Lee (6'7.75" in bare feet) totally owned our bigs.

He is correct that what New York does is a ridiculous approach that will never lead them anywhere serious -- just I think engaging in a little salesmanship trying to convince people that what we have is going to be an improvement for them. What use height if you don't use it? If your rebounding has fallen off, you can't post, and are worthless as a shotblocker? You might as well be 6'8". So sell Geoff sell. Figure even if nobody buys it there may still be a few situations where Brad's particular skills fit -- teams in need of shooting, teams with a big post player in need of a spacer at the other spot etc.

In other news, GP is trying to sell some swamp land in Florida "It is in the Sunshine state, only 2 hours from DisneyWorld and it comes with free pet alligators."

I'm sure Miller would be 100% happy with any trade to any where near Cuba. The bud there is a million times better than whatever sticks he manages to get up in cowpoke Indiana :D

I still claim that Miller would be a perfect fit in Orlando next to Dwight! Its just that there is nothing there that we could use for our rebuild. Maybe a 3 team trade that send Miller to Orlando and we get something from a 3rd team and a pick from Magic.

When you have a beast like Dwight Howard manning the middle, Miller becomes a perfect compliment to him.

Felton + Morison + May for Miller and 2nd round 09/10

This is a deal I'll take. Miller will move Okafor to PF, Diaw/Wallace to SF, Bell at SG and Augustine at PG. Which I think Larry Brown can still live with.

Bobcats will still have enough guys to rotate with. Since Morison just becomes more expendable with Diaw and Bell and May is almost useless. Felton has been playing as SG with Augustin at PG, so Felton's another expendable guy in the rotation.

May and Felton are for qualifying offer by next season which is safe to evaluate them more. And Morison's contract will be at same status by 2010.

All 3 are top pick so if one or 2 finally blossoms once move from Charlotte. Petrie just hits a jackpot. :D

We get a PG & $9M in cap space for Miller plus a 2nd. OK. But, 2 problems When does SAR come off the books? We don't have a roster spot for all 3 until then. And, 2nd, there is a chance that all the bigs are gone when we draft, so we'd be force to draft another PG. (assuming we draft best player available)

I like the Miami deal better. $20M cap space & keep 2nd rounder. Marion plays the 3&4, which allows us to move Salmons. Draft comes we have 3 in top 39, plus major cap space for FA or trades. Altogether we could add 5 or 6 new players next summer.
