Thing as, at SG last game against LA and at Chi the first pass went to him, and he and our team looked much better. Tonight it was just Reke stuck off the ball, which won't work. Not so much PG or SG to me as it is put the ball in his hands either way, and we've done it with success but Smart seems oblivious to it. And why the hell are Brooks and Jimmer handling instead of Reke?
 
JIMMER HAS to be the starting PG, IMO, for this team to have a chance at WINNING. JIMMER CAN HANDLE THE ROCK, anything else said is a LIE. JIMMER CAN CREATE HIS OWN SHOT, anything else said is a LIE.

was thinking the samething, ok we dont have a great system or anything, but if we can keep it around 10, I think we can at least make it close in the second half based on individual talent alone,

also why the heck is IT not getting any burn? he finally can match up with someone on the other team, who is smart saving him for?
 
Jimmer ran straight into Evans' path on that attempted break ... Evans a little out of control as well but didn't help that Jimmer ran into him
 
You have MT and Jimmer on the floor and there are no down screens, no cross screens i will never understand that.

The Bulls didn't rely nearly as much on this style of defense that the Wolves are right now, and I even wondered why. But teams that think of themselves as defense first probably think less of themselves by playing such a gimmicked defense.

From day one he's tried to morph Jimmer Fredette into a pnr PG when the exact reasons that you would draft a player like Jimmer is to help spread the floor for Tyreke. Yes, something is certainly wrong here no question.
 
12 guys saw the floor and it's not even halftime, 13th listed is injured Honeycutt. He might see the floor as well.
 
We are not getting back on defense. We are not stopping the ball. This is not the defense we saw against Chicago. The point guards are killing us on both ends. Isaiah and Brooks can't run the offense and no one is stopping Ridnour or Barea.

Second straight game the point guards have really sunk us. Something to watch.
 
Well you can't really argue Jimmer has played hard on offense, his over-helping and turning his head on defense does my head in though.

exactly why its time for a new coach. this guy had an entire offseason and training camp and he cant even get his teams to run screens for his best 3 point shooters. someone needs to mail him some tape of how Boston used Ray Allen for the last 4 years

A lot of it is our pick and roll coverage as well. Lots of miscommunication as the guards stick to their man but the bigs don't go back to theirs.
 
You see multiple breakdowns and still Minnesota is under 40%from the field. Second absolutely winnable game in a row.

Yea... I still don't understand trying to make Jimmer the point. I had always thought he was a good draft choice as he could be a knock down shooter for Evans to kick it too. Instead we turn around and try to make him into a point guard which is what we were playing Evans at during that period. If you were planning on Jimmer to play point, he wasn't going to be a good fit on the team. I wish I could hear the conversations they had and what they planned on using Jimmer for when they were working out the draft.
 
If Jimmer is our best player, something is really wrong...

Btw: what the hell happened to IT? He's not the player he was last year right now.
 
Really good game so far for JT and Jimmer, not the guys you want to carry your offensive load but it's fine as long as their shots are falling.

The key in the second half is to stop the silly fouls on defense and use some brains on offense.

I play basketball and have played at a high level, I know talent when I see it. Jimmer's only weakness is he's a tad slow laterally defensively but all his offensive talent and basketball IQ certainly overcome that defficiency. Jimmer can do it all offensively. ALL.
 
This lineup worked because Jimmer is much better off the ball guard than Thomas or Brooks, especially brooks. I don't love Jimmer, but because of his shooting ability he can space the floor and handle a bit. Plus they played with two bigs who don't force anything in Hayes and Thompson. It allowed Evans, and mostly Thornton to find a groove.

Thomas and Brooks needs to figure it out.
