[Game] Kings @ Spurs Game Thread 3/11/11

I miss Piksi and the crew who would do these threads. :(

GO KINGS!

I was going to do one, I really was. But then disaster struck. Thankfully I just got word that my family is alright. Everyone keep praying for all of the others not as fortunate as me.

I would think that would take precedent! Happy your family is alright, Tetsujin!

What?
Up until a little over a week ago the game threads had much more activity. Now......almost vacant. Tonight is it because it's a friday night and no one is watching, or is it because everyone is sad about the arena situation, and will no longer comment? Thought that was pretty straight forward.

OK, OK, Go Kings!!!!

Did people get to see the halftime show in Sacramento? it gave a good idea why these guys don't give up. Most of them have a major fire burning in them. Now we need a little more talent. :)

The timing doesn't help, on top of everyone checking out due to the impending move. There's also that tsunami and impending nuclear meltdown in Japan...

I wouldn't know; I generally avoid the game thread during games, preferring to stay in my chat room/echo chamber, and wouldn't log onto the board during games at all (for completely irrational superstitious reasons), except that no other mods ever log on during game time (the only one who ever did was VF), so I almost feel like I have to. Since I don't actually like to participate in them, I have no idea what is considered "normal" traffic for one.

It wasn't straightforward to me, or I wouldn't have asked. But, then again, I actually don't spend a lot of time thinking about the arena issue. Oh well, no harm done.

Makes sense. I usually don't see MOD's posting in game threads.

Wasn't trying to come across as rude, only an observation on my part. Just wondering if many in Sac have already checked out, and just don't watch anymore. Much less comments then in the past.

It's Friday night, yo. I had to spend some time cleaning up kid barf and giving the dog a bath. Dad life.

Our perimeter defenders are so terrible. They never know what to do against the pick and roll. They try and 'help' on defense so often they leave shooters wide open.

I think we miss Reke more on defense then offense.

Very heads up play by Cisco. He called demarcus off the pick and roll even though it was Blair setting the pick. Garcia knew Parker was looking for the shot so switched on him right away and picked up the steal. Led to a layup for the Kings to close out the quarter.

Two things. Every team should be kicking themselves twice for passing on Blair and he is doing as good of a job as possible on DMC. They aren't having to throw a double at him so the Spurs can play good defense on everyone.

Ugh. Tought to win against one of the best teams in the league with Dleague point guards playing big minutes for your team. Pooh Jeter and Luther Head .. just not playing smart.
