so could these games be the players sending a message to Luke? I didn't watch this game, but just by reading the posts with the players not really showing much desire to play it leaves me asking questions especially after Marvins refusal to enter the game
I didn't watch the game either, but something definitely smells off. Hey if it takes a long losing streak to get rid of Luke, I'd rather have it happen now.

People seem to be assuming that Dr. Holmes is speaking out over something pertaining to her son, but I don't see what she said that merits any pushback, at all?

It's not the system. They gave up before the game even started tonight. Holmes is obviously PO'd at something, maybe his reduced playing time. Something is very wrong emotionally with this team and it happened very quickly. Is it coincidental that Bagley refused to play in the last game? I just don't know.

Huh...Bagley refused to play?

Oh well at least we can have the usual Fox hype on our perennial 30 win team. Something to cheer for I guess

It's not just the reported refusal to play. It's the apparent approval or understanding he got from several coaches and players, including Holmes.

Something is off.

Because Fox needs the ball, which freezes out other players because he's not a distributor/playmaker.

As I’ve been saying, if Fox is the team’s star, the only way to move forward is a one man show a la Russ or Iverson.

That means Buddy stays, but Fox and Mitchell are gone. He needs the ball in his hands 100% of the time and needs everyone else to be shooters or grunt (boards, blocks, screens) types.

Mitchell has shown he can play next to Fox off the ball. This is why Bagley not panning out hurts worse than people realize. He was always the path to a 2 star combo. Instead? They turned him into an off the ball spreader so Holmes could shine and then couldn't or shouldn't play because "defenze" as the Kings locked down the worst defense in the league last year and are so far following it up with a 24th best. I know, injuries mattered too, but when not injured misuse was plentiful.

Have to live or die with Fox. Forget the offense Luke wants to run.

I don’t think Fox and Mitchell are playable. Not until Fox’s shot is more consistent. And I’m not talking getting back to last year’s averages. And it would be a damn shame to turn Mitchell into a complimentary player. Besides I think his upside is greater than Fox’s.

"24th Best" - I like that....

Ironically, Bagley is the type of player that you run with Fox.

Can you clarify this? Did Bags refuse to play? I was speculating earlier that he maybe chose not to but I haven’t seen anything on it. And what approval are you speaking of. Maybe I’m out of the loo on this

You can't be a star in this league and not dominate the ball. Before this game people were saying Fox doesn't deserve to be called a star because he wasn't producing like one. Today he does and he's low-key selfish and needs the ball in his hands 100% of the time and we need to trade everyone else and let him play one on five? Look at this graphic of the last 40 assist leaders...

Steve Nash and Magic can do no wrong and John Stockton looks more like a banker than a baller so he gets a free pass (heh) too, but just about everyone else here was at one time or another considered to be a selfish a-hole who was out hunting stats instead of playing team ball. That game against Charlotte when every shot was dropping and every pass was an assist was a whole lot of fun but nobody plays like that every night (well, except for Golden State a few years ago but they had a whole lot of help from the refs ignoring their creative use of interpretive dance screen setting to accomplish that magical 73 win season).

It's possible for the team to play well together and still occasionally need a monster individual effort offensively some nights. We don't need to pout if we don't get one style of offense every game. I see we gave up 136 points to the Spurs (26 more than their season average) and I don't feel like our offense was the problem here.

So when did fox have time during the off season to go to the houses of every member of kingsfans.com and kick their dogs?

Doesn’t play up to par early in the season, he sucks, trade him. Finally has a good game but the team suddenly forgets how to play defense and spurs shoot lights out from 3 and fox is still the problem?

Approval may not be the right word. More of acknowledged his position with understanding. No coaches would approve of a player refusing to go in.

I'm all for understanding. Truly, I am. The young man has had his pride hurt. He's ashamed of sitting on the bench. He probably dreamed of being an All Star, and poof, he's going to have to fight for just being in the league. All that said, I'm sick of it. There is a time and place for righteous indignation, and this is the freaking time. The young man better start growing up. NOW And the people that enable it, players or whomever, they better grow the F up. This is a league for adults, not babies that go waa, waa, waa.
