You never know. Skill wise he's similar to Bogdan so there may be some sense to that target.
No he isn't. He's an average combo guard best fit to play in europe or the g-league. Bogi has far more natural talent.

Yeah they through him in the starting lineup day one. After first 5 games he averaged 16Barnes did 14 pts in 33 minutes in 1/3 of the year. just saying.
You may be wrong.Justin James is not an NBA caliber player. He's nothing more than a perennial g leaguer at best. To say that he can replace a quality player like Bogi is straight A bull.

Pts for bogi is what you have to look at when he dribbles the ball for 16 seconds then heaves a shot. He only get 3 ast in those 27 min. Below average defense. Am I missing something he is doing? I have seen every game.

There’s only so many minutes to go around and team chemistry can be fragile. I’d rather not force log jams and potentially weaken our locker room.I'm not following your logic here. So Vlade should acquire less talented players that are ok with playing limited minutes so the Kings have a better shot at making the playoffs?
No, it’s not. It should be one of many things you look at.Pts for bogi is what you have to look at when he dribbles the ball for 16 seconds then heaves a shot. He only get 3 ast in those 27 min. Below average defense. Am I missing something he is doing? I have seen every game.

The move here should be a salary dump for a future pick. It fills out the roster, doesn’t hurt the balanced minute distribution we’d have right now, and gets us a future asset in the process.
PG - Fox (32 min) / Ferrell (16 min)
SG - Hield (30 min) / Bogdan (18 min)
SF - Barnes (28 min) / Bogdan (8 min) / Ariza (12 min)
PF - Bagley (28 min) / Ariza (8 min) / Bjelica (12 min)
C - Dedmon (24 min) / Giles (24 min)
Fox - 32 min
Hield - 30 min
Barnes - 28 min
Bagley - 28 min
Bogdan - 26 min
Giles - 24 min
Dedmon - 24 min
Ariza - 20 min
Ferrell - 16 min
Bjelica - 12 min
Bogi took exactly twice as many shots as Barnes yet they averaged the same ppg. Think about that for a secBarnes did 14 pts in 33 minutes in 1/3 of the year. just saying.
Kings should trade for Iggy + 3 first round picks!! Holy crap, that's an amazing bargain. He ain't a bad player for a one year rent...then he's off next year.

I have never worried about minutes for players. They will get the minutes they deserve based on how well they play. If they are unhappy about their minutes, play better. As for complaining about minutes, I have found there are 2 solutions. First is to win games. Winning almost always keeps everyone happy. Second is to get rid of players causing problems. If someone is causing too much turmoil in the locker room, trade them or cut them.Is pts the only thing you look at when it comes to value on the floor?
Again, if you’re dropping the mins to 18-20 for Bogdan and Beverley, dropping Ariza to 13 mins, & Bjelica to 10 min, you could begin to have some guys start to complain about their minutes. It can become a distraction. It’s happened before and it can happen again.
I’m not lying when I this, I was on the board last year and there was 1 specific Dallas fan who absolutely hated Luka Doncic. He was very ignorant and racist. He argued with everyone there all the time, talking about over 100 pages of argument fueled from his idiocracy. He would say things like “Luka would never make it into the NBA because like all Europeans, he’s an inferior athlete to Americans.” “Luka is going to bust like Darko because he’s a European.” “If he played in college, he wouldn’t even average over 10ppg because he’s so inferior to American athletes.” “People only like Luka because he’s white.” The guy said a ton more awful things I can’t think of off the top of my head, but somehow through all of it... he never got banned. Like wtf? They would “issue warnings” that never went anywhere while he just continued to spew his BS literally creating over a hundred pages of everyone telling him he needs to STFU. He would come back every week and repeat the same sentiments and get everyone riled up again. The modding there is freaking horrific.
Realgm sucks...
It’s one thing to simply “pass up on talent” as you put it. It’s another thing to make sure your current assets don’t depreciate in value while also collecting a future asset in the process. Disgruntled players lead to lower trade value. Protect our assets.I say sign the best guys possible and let the chips fall where they may. If the team is much better with Beverly out there, and Bogie isn't happy, then put Bogie on the trading block. If Ariza isn't happy, do the same with him.
Do you really want to go through another season with the Yogi/Bogie tandem off the bench? The lack of playmaking from the bench cost us games last year. It needs to be fixed if the Kings are serious about a playoff run. If someone isn't happy, then either play better or pack your bags but this team is in no way in a situation where they should pass up on talented players to stroke any fragile egos.
How about you let the kid play one summer league game before you ship him off to Latvia? No he isn't. He's an average combo guard best fit to play in europe or the g-league. Bogi has far more natural talent.

“I think [he] fits better for them in that role for what they want -- shooting 3s, rim protecting, all that ... I think (Dedmon) is one of the good ones in the league who does that, so for them I think that’s a big-time move.”
I agree. I take back all the things I said about Willie. Well, not all. Maybe 10%.That's a class move by willie. He's gained a couple respectability points in my book.
Honestly, I really do appreciate his candor, but I'm not sure what it says about him as a ball player.So... what is it that Willie himself thinks he brings to a team?
Perimeter defense and dunks?
Offensive juggernaut potential - if only given the chance.So... what is it that Willie himself thinks he brings to a team?

All yucks aside, a 7 foot guard would be able to hit the 3. He doesn't want to or can't develop an outside shooting game, which is a requirement in the modern NBA yet he also doesn't want to maximize the skills he does have for the value it adds.Probably that he still doesn't think of himself as a center. Remember, he's a 7 foot guard. If that's true we will see if Steve Kerr can bring that out of him finally.
