Kings secretly negotiating...

I can't keep this a secret anymore. The Maloofs are negotiating with Disney on buying the Ducks and moving the Kings to the Pond. This is absolute fact since I heard it straight from one of the owners and was in LA a couple of weeks ago when this took place. We do business with the Maloofs so this is how I know. Whether how serious they are remains to be seen or are they just doing this to have a new arena in town approved faster. An offer for the Hockey team has already been made but the Mouse still wants more than the offer. The OC/Inland Empire/San Diego Market is a much more lucrative market and that is why they want to be there. The Clppers signed a 10 year lease with Staples so they want to move into the Pond as fast as they can and capitalize on the market and existing arena. Will the NBA allow 3 teams in SoCal eventhough OC is 60 miles away from Staples.
What are your thoughts?
 
Ok, so why are they about to back and complete negotiations to get a new arena built here in Sac?? Wouldnt that be kind of dumb? Yeah, thats it, make plans to help get a new state of the art arena here in Sac, and then have no teams to play in it. Geez.
 
I call bull****.

It's simply not gonna happen. You did read how opposed Stern is to that kind of move right? And he swings a pretty big stick.

Yeah, okay fine...

David Stern will NOT allow another NBA team in the over-saturated LA market.

If you do business with the Maloofs and you're coming here to spread gossip, shame on you.

While they very well could buy the Ducks - and it's widely known they've expressed interest in the team before - that doesn't mean they'll move the Kings out of Sacramento. You don't move a winning franchise with an extremely loyal fanbase just because you happen to own a team from a different professional sport.

The fact that Stern isnt in any hurry to pull the Kings out of our city because we've sold out pretty much every game since we got here(1997-1998 season was an exception) Thats just stupid.
 
Typical drive-by bull-****, IMHO... Notice how he posts this "hot rumor" about "secret" negotiations and then leaves?

I'm sure the Maloofs are going to find it amusing when someone in the Kings main office reads it here and mentions it to them.

oh...guess I didnt finish my last post....its stupid to think that Stern or the Maloofs would be in any hurry(within 5 years or so) to move the Kings when we are the most loyal fans, for God's sake we supported our team when we were winning 25-29 wins for 8 straight years.
 
It's also stupid to think that we'd believe:
1) The Maloofs would be opening talking about "secretly" moving the Kings to the Pond, and
2) They'd hold those secret discussions in front of someone willing to come to a fan board and post it.

hey, seriously, this is true! i heard that the maloof's have bought the ducks & are going to move the kings down to OC.

then, the kings are going to be forced to suit up & play NHL games as "scabs" in order to break the NHL player's will and end the NHL lock out. we all know how much the NHL lockout has killed the north american sports fan.

its been a secret plot by the NHL owners to merge NBA teams in the same city w/NHL teams, then save money on contracts by having the NBA players play both sports. the beauty is they only get paid for their NBA contract.

oh yea, during intermission (that's hockey speak for "timeout"), the fans get to run onto the ice and hurl basketballs at the players. kinda cool.

I think the Maloofs care about Sacramento and would never keep secrets from us. They love this city too much to abruptly move them to "our" enemy territory.

OMG!!! This would be terrible! I hope something falls through and it doesn't happen. Keep us posted on any else the Maloofs tell you!

Monday in a historic News Conference the Kings will announce they are moving to Rio De Janeiro as of 2 weeks next Thursday. Rumors are that The Lakers will move to Buenos Aires, The Suns will move to Mexico City, The Magic will move to Nassau . This is not a rumor. This is real.
