Poor, very poor defense by K-Mart. Battier took the pass on the right side of hoop and just flipped it in with no D whatsoever. A little slow to computer as I think it was Houston's third or fourth basket in the game
Nice D by Beno, staying in front of Alston (who he's bigger and stronger than) all the way to hoop on drive, getting help in there from some of our bigs - rebound for breakaway at other end with K-Mart layup. Houston calls timeout!
At the half, the Rockets are on a pace to score 78. We haven't held an opponent to 78 points or fewer since Feb. 8 2007, when we held the Bulls to 33% from the field and beat them 86-77 at Arco.
If the Rockets only score 78 we probably lose That's Houston's game. Grind it out in the half court. Get it in to Yao in a defensive, buckets hard to come struggle for 4 quarters. Last game they lost to Milwaukee 124-112 - not their type game at all.
Not as bad as Kings at Cleveland (under Muss) when they played Purple Haze (Hendrix) to the beat in blowout... "Purple Haze all around, don't know if I'm up or down, acting funny, don't know why..." yada yada
Has anyone noticed with BJax and Beno on the court at same time the offense really moves a helluva lot. They went on a real nice run with those two operating. Oh well, maybe it's just Rockets slacking up a bit at the end.
LOL! Thanks for the laugh, needed it after that game.
I did notice how much the ball moves with Bjax and Beno on the court. JT looked better tonight, I think he'll be a really nice player once he can get the foul problem under control. Artest and Battier are hard to play against when they're both on the court at the same time, problem was they were guarding two of our top scorers (Salmons/Kmart/Cisco) and it made it harder for us this game. I think its partially the reason why our bigs were semi effective tonight and when BJax/Udrih were on the floor passing away our offense was scoring again
