LOL Dame Jones with the best dunk of the season had Davion not spiked that one in the first quarter

I was thinking more in terms of Fox getting shipped out but that wouldn’t surprise me either

They're going for it. You don't ship out your best talent if that's the case especially if they made a major move to make more sense around that specific player. I got the inkling a little before the deadline they were showcasing the young guys and that ended up being the case. Right or wrong. I guess we'll find out this summer and at the start of the next season how this goes. I was shocked Monte didn't move that pick. Now it might just pay off that he didn't. He's got serious options if he keeps building towards something that makes sense. Keep the pick and they could have max money the summer after next year. Trade the pick and expirings maybe Davion at a high and he can move now. We will see.

Man, I know the national narrative on the Bagley trade is that he's flourishing in Detroit but the Kings got Trey Lyles and DDV for him

I just don't see why they'd move off Davion at this point. They need the ball-handling and playmaking; things he's showing far more aptitude for over the last few weeks. And if the scoring progression keep trending up as it has been, maybe he's your 3rd banana off Fox/Sabonis.

We're seeing the rotation spots getting filled up:

Fox || ??
Mitchell || DDV
Barnes || ??
??? || Lyles || Metu
Sabonis || Jones || Queta

maybe you start DDV and keep Mitchell in a super 6th man role, but I think those spots are basically solved at this point with all the big spots filled for next year. One interesting idea is to bring Lamb back as that secondary playmaker/scorer role leaving TD/DDV/Lamb as your bench wing options and you just efficiently stagger Fox/Mitchell so one of them is on the floor at all times.

Going to really need to see a big jump from Jalen next year to make me a believer in him being a franchise talent. There's a really nice scoring bag, but he's so far behind in basically every other aspect of the game. I'd be real worried about him just being bigger Monta Ellis

Fox has the bigger contract meaning if you’re moving either of them for an impact player it’s gonna be easier to do that packaging him with the pick

Yeah, Davion/pick at this point would have to be a serious package coming back. I'm not sure how sold I am on Fox/Mitchell/Donte as a trio. When they've played they are simply too small. Fox finds himself guarding a wing and that's plain stupid. For the next season or two Mitchell in that 6th man role can certainly work, starting SG? Eh, not sure at this point. Him running pick and roll from the bench would be a huge advantage if his mid range game holds up. Then with Donte, how much is he worth? Can they actually move Holmes off the books before the summer after this at this point? You can't have 15-20 million+ locked up in Donte/Holmes. That could be a crushing mistake if they are planning anything for next summer. Draft night is everything. If they keep the pick then they have to start prepping for the next summer.

But the question is for who? When the games still somewhat mattered Fox showed there are very few players that can hang with him individually. Fox and the pick would be for like 1-3 players in the entire league and Giannis, Luka, and Jokic aren't available I don't think, haha.

So, I'm barely paying attention to the game (working late), but I hear Kayte talk about how players hate to tank, and how much it bothered her that, during one of the years she played in the WNBA, her team clearly tanked the final game of the season. As a player-first fan, I sympathize with her perspective.

From an organizational standpoint, it bears acknowledging that, based on Kayte's career profile, the season that she's most likely referring to is the 2003 WNBA season. Her team (Phoenix Mercury) won the draft lottery that year, and used the Number One pick to draft... Diana Taurasi. Some of you may have heard of her.

Dame maybe, Lebron but that’s not realistic. I previously would have said Simmons but that ship has sailed. You’re probably right that the deal isn’t there today

More than halfway through the fourth we have 2 points in the quarter and we've only barely managed to give up the lead. This is pathetic "basketball".

Dame at his age wouldn't work. Besides most teams trading a superstar are looking to rebuild, not retool. They will look at creating cap space, not replacing one max guy with another. The only player I could see being an option would be one of the wings out of Boston. Probably Brown but Fox/pick is a big overpay there.
