I'm gonna be honest. If this roster is all I had to look forward to for the rest of the year, I'm not sure how many games I could watch. I know I would not be making any more trips to STA.

We got a taste of a team that can beat anyone on any night and it was exciting. Back to the old ways of losing and yes I agree 100%.

I'm a IT guy but I have to say I expected him to have bigger impact with Rudy/cuz out even with the defensive attention on him. Next step as a potential top tier nba pg

Well, I'm not really certain what you want from me.

The fact is that the more a player is on the court, the more chances they will have for injury. That's a given.
^^^^ That. What I "want from you" is that. Acknowledgement; no more, no less. That part was missing from both of the previous posts of yours which I replied to.

But isn't it also true that not every injury is due to fatigue and overuse? That's what I've been arguing. It's easy to point to the road trip, extended minutes, etc. but it's also possible it was just a misstep and bad luck. People are also so quick to want to point a finger and ascribe blame when something like this happens. I do not fault Malone for the minutes Rudy played last night and, as others have pointed out, you cannot have a coach base his use of his roster on a fear of extended minutes leading to inevitable injury.
Certainly, and something like an Achilles injury is usually much more of a freak accident. Seen it a few times and it's someone running on a treadmill or a fastbreak in basketball with no one around them. Those are the scary injuries, similar to Webber blowing out his knee but also are often a result of balance issues and over compensation. An example is that when your body is feeling pretty good and you receive contact, the natural chain reaction is for your core to immediately tighten which offers support/balance through out the body and softens the blow. When you're not feeling that good your core might not fire correctly, resulting is a greater deal of pressure on a knee or ankle or shoulder which can be the difference between a sprain and a tear.

Still, a great deal of injuries happen when someone isn't mentally sharp and 100% there and fatigue is many times a cause of that. At the same time there isn't a whole lot you can do with pro athletes. They're not weekend warriors.

I tore my achilles 1 1/2 years ago playing basketball. It's sort of a freak accident, but the achilles can also weaken over time if there are small tears and you don't get the rest. I missed some of the signs when it was getting a little sore in a previous game. Then came off the bench cold when I was used to starting and......snap. Point is, Rudy needs to get that achilles rested. Glad it sounds like it's not serious but if he doesn't rest it and get good treatment, it could give out on him.

I don't know which I hate more: The Pizza Guy tattoo commercial or the ZoomCopier press conference commercial. Blech!

I suppose a short hand statement that gets to the heart of your point is that there have been many road trips like this without our players dropping like flies.

Then there is the practicle problem of what to do. I think most teams play their reserves more. I can see why Malone left Rudy in last night but I remember many less competent coaches who made sure their players were rested and made individual achievement take a back seat to rest. The number of points didn't seem that important to Rudy. I'm sure Malone will give this some thought.

I'm proud of IT. I didn't watch the end but up to the point where I switched it off, IT seemed more concerned with the team than himself. There is no way he was going to single handedly bring the team back and to even think that way borders on delusional.

No one player can win in the NBA. IT may have found out that when he is the focus of defensive attention, life is not so smooth, I didn't watch so that's a guess.

Not to make light in any way of cuz and gays injuries, and you hope the injuries won't hamper them in the future in any way, but it's hard to turn a blind eye to the fact that we are in a losing season and the third worst record is well within reach for draft purposes. I'd like them to come back but it wont overly pain me if it takes them a bit of time and we get a chance to see some of these other players

Sssssshhhh! Some people have a problem with this. I think the fact is that we are on the cusp of being able to get a very good player and a good player, all of whom can contribute so I understand. Just remember to duck when people criticize you for your lousy attitude. ;) San Antonio didn't give Duncan back to another team because Robinson got hurt and screwed up their season allowing them to get Duncan. This would not be a tank or in anyway losing on purpose. I still have suspicions about San Antonio and although there may be no Tim Duncan in this draft, look at where they ended up. The fact is, there may be a Tim Duncan in this draft. But that's a bit much of me to say in a game thread, I suppose.

I give our guys credit, after your two best players go down within minutes of eachother, they could have just laid down, but they fought hard. They were clearly outmatched, but at least they put up as much of a fight as they could. They could've been down 25-30 by halftime but somehow stuck around before finally being put away in the third.

I tried one and didn't like it at all. I mentioned it elsewhere that Costco has better pizzas so that tells you something.
