you can literally see him move in the air when he gets bumped and there are rockets fans dropping F bombs at Kings fans about how the refs gave this to us tonight. I've never seen anything like this. I honestly hope they pick 5th.

Riiiiight?!?It's really weird, too, because this is exactly the kind of tanking loss you should want to see if you're a Rockets fan. They were competitive against a quality opponent to the last second, then they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory for that sweet, sweet lin.
THIS! Including myself because i kept expecting pain and anguish lol i truly think if we stay healthy, we will be fine.
Rockets twitter is wild man.
Like they have a page full of grievances in a game the refs appeared to be favoring the home team.
Blown calls...Welcome to the Association, folks...I’m just so glad we finally got the benefit of the controversial call at the end of the game when it mattered most. Maybe the tide is turning? Probably not, cause it was against a cellar dweller but we can hope.
They say things often balance out, so perhaps this makes up for either the Miami or Golden State game? Which means we’re still owe at least one more
Honestly, there were blown calls both ways. I thought Eric Gordon was last to touch the ball off the jump ball and that should have been overturned.
Conversely, I could see Houston’s argument on the charge call that was upheld, as while Keegan was well outside the circle he was still sliding and moving his feet when the contact occurred.
But I also thought there was a lot of contact ignored after Monk’s missed drive to the basket when both Domas and Keegan attempted put backs. I thought Keegan’s left elbow was hit causing him to lose the ball. So there’s that.
On Swipa’s final shot, I’ve seen much more contact not called — Peja getting hacked by Trenton Hassell in the 2004 playoffs immediately comes to mind — but one of the camera angles does show EG bumping De’Aaron at his waist while in midshot which clearly caused the shot to miss way right.
If my team was on the other end of that call, I’d be very upset. But since the KINGS have lost games in the past over similar calls against them — I’m not going to feel too badly about it.
We needed this W badly. A loss to that team would have been absolutely terrible.
LIGHT.THAT.BEAM.
It's a fair summary. I was also under the impression that the kickouts should be offensive fouls now, so not only should the foul on the 3 been rolled back, but it should have taken off the basket as well. Maybe that's wrong. I was really stunned when they didn't even look at the oob on the jump ball to make sure they got it right. Also there may have been a foul or two on the possession that lead to the jump, but I can see why they might not want to call it. Sabonis lost at least a quarter to a few quick soft fouls tonight. He also got a T while his face was bleeding after another no-call. The ref crew WAS inexperienced and I think they called a bad game, but it was favoring the home team as you would expect until the Rockets made it impossible.I’m just so glad we finally got the benefit of the controversial call at the end of the game when it mattered most. I mean I certainly get that when you are on the fringe of competition you may not want to tank. And I also think the complete lack of direction under Silas appears to potentially be harming some of the young guys. But they have 13 wins and nothing is going to pull them into any form or shape of contention so may as well just secure top lotto odds rather than risk it?I guess they have a lot of fans that are competitive and just can’t bring themselves to root for their team to lose no matter the circumstances? I certainly identify with that.
That said, the Rockets are the original “tank” or “process team” having purposely positioned themselves to get Ralph Sampson and Hakeem Olajuwon in consecutive years leading to the advent of the NBA lottery — so EFF that org and their fans is all I can really say! Hahahaha
Oh, AND you could have had Michael Jordan! Hahahahaha
For the Jalen Green 3pt shot, I think it comes down to whether or not an actual foul occurred on the play. In the end, I think the refs decided there was no foul committed by either side, therefore, they counted the basket like it was just a regular shot. It's a fair summary. But the keyboard warriors of twitter think the kickout was a foul on the Kings, that Fox leapt into Gordon, that the charge was wrong, and they are celebrating a fan who threw a bottle at the refs at the end.
yeah but if we play .500 and the Lakers win .750 and every team behind us is .600 or better we might only be the 10 seed.
When they made the announcement though, they said he kicked out and made contact. I get the idea of them calling no foul and option, but isn't that ruling an O foul? For the Jalen Green 3pt shot, I think it comes down to whether or not an actual foul occurred on the play. I think the offensive foul would only be called if Green initiated contact first, then shot the ball. In this case, he shoots the ball and gets it off, THEN tries to kick his feet outward.
It's a bit silly and confusing, but I'm glad they have it now because the offensive players were starting to get ridiculous with their foul baiting. I agree with you though. This was a poorly reffed game for each side.
About time the refs cut the Kings some slack. This foul by Gordon is reminiscence of the Klay Thompson foul that they didn't call. Glad the Kings get some favorable calls this time around. But man, what a finish. That was unbelievable. Fox was off on some of the clutch shots. Sabonis was in foul trouble and still we pull it off, amazing win.
Oh damn - I believe this was on the kickout review? lol.Super fun reading this after their fans were so ready to laugh at us for choking LOL the slow but sure turn to heartbreak and back to reality for them.

Is that not a reckless closeout and flagrant?
It’s funny you mention this, cause I was telling my wife the same thing right after the ref announced the reversal. I mean, if they acknowledge that Green initiated contact with his right leg “kick” then it’s logical to conclude that it should have been ruled an offensive foul and the basket nullified.
Either it was a foul on Barnes (which it wasn’t) or it’s an offensive foul on Green (which it should have been). Gotta be one of those outcomes.
Kessler coming from the Nets to the Beam Team has got to be an all-time vibes upgrade

dammit I've read like the last 30 pages of the clutch fans it's kind of sad to see the one or two rockets fans on there who are correctly insisting the foul happened and time stamping where the contact is it met with replies of "but the other angle you can see there was no contact".Super fun reading this after their fans were so ready to laugh at us for choking LOL the slow but sure turn to heartbreak and back to reality for them.

Talk about thin skin!!!!Ben DuBose is a longtime media personality covering the Houston Rockets. He is currently the Editor of USA Today's Rockets Wire.
I guess it's more or less unlikely like you say, but poor Blazers.Since they obviously would have a lot of games against each other, I don't think every team behind us can play .600, but let's see where that goes (rounding everybody up)...
1 (Denver)
2 (Memphis)
t3 Mavs (.615): 46-36
t3 Suns (.615): 46-36
t3 Clippers (.625): 46-36
t3 Lakers (.778): 46-36
t7 Kings (.500): 45-37
t7 Pelicans (.615): 45-37
t7 Wolves (.625): 45-37
t7 Warriors (.630): 45-37
11 Blazers (.630): 44-38
Jazz Tank, Thunder are the team that loses to let all these teams be way over .500?
So, in that scenario where we go exactly .500 and 8 teams in the WC go on that absolute tear...we're in a 4-way tie for the play-in. Of course, if you round everybody DOWN one game, we're in a 5-way tie for third (one team would have to do the play-in).
But looking at these numbers, I'd guess that if we go .500 the rest of the way, we make the playoffs outright and avoid the play-in, and it might be good enough for the 4 or 5 seed. And juuuust maybe the 3 seed, if nobody really shoots up the ranks.
yeah but if we play .500 and the Lakers win .750 and every team behind us is .600 or better we might only be the 10 seed.
It's obvious after this that Fox will be the pick for the replacement in THE AS game. But damn. Took them long enough to acknowledge A/S Fox.
