[Game] Kings @ Raptors Tuesday 1/22/19 @ 4:00pm PT/ 7:00pm ET

I agree but you are over analyzing one clearly lousy pick. Kings have certainly had fair share of more blown picks than hitting the jackpot in their history. Please don't have me recite them. Kings blew it with that #7 and mostly Vivek's fault, imo. Then it appears he was at least OK with or strongly encouraged BenMac the sequel. That's all and as I said, it's now surely over.

I was on the sign Van Vleet bandwagon this summer. Yogi and Frank looked like 3rd stringers tonight.

Justin Jackson and Marvin's play recently eases any need at forward.

The Kings need a backup PG and a rebounding specialist.

Cory Joseph please!
That's a good one. The Pacers have one of the more interesting guard traffic jams in the league.

You know I think wearing a headband or baseball cap chronically when exercising can block the follicles and trap in the perspiration. Then the hair stops growing or falls out. Don't hold me to the validity of this but maybe that is why Willie ditched the headband. :p

That’s a bit unfair. And you have the benefit of judging in hindsight. At the time, McLemore was a top prospect. Scouting 18 and 19 yo kids is an inexact science. More of them don’t pan out.

Vivek’s excitement over Ben and Nik Stauskas turned out to be fools gold. But his excitement over Buddy Hield, De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley looks to be warranted. Can’t be right all the time.
Yep. Ben was ranked as a second overall pick in a lot of the mock drafts before the draft.

Sure, Geoff wanted Giannis but I don't think he even realized how good the kid would be. Sometimes these things happen.

Brad Miller going undrafted and turning into a multi-time all-star doesn't mean every single GM that passed on him should be fired. The draft despite the thousands of websites and blog posts of analysis isn't a science.

that may explain LeBron's dilemma

The two rookie bigs are going to be fantastic. I've really liked Siakam for quite a while now. I'd love to see him in a Kings uniform. But Bagley is obviously a superior talent. And Bagley is 19 years old and Siakam is 24. It's very hard to project how good Bagley is going to be when he's 24 years old, but I think it's a very safe bet he's going to be a LOT better than he is now. Giles also shows that he can be special: Two blocked shots on defense and he's got such a soft touch around the rim, not to mention his passing. He makes those short contested jump shots in the lane look easy. They aren't. You look at other big men and they just don't have the balance, the quickness or the touch for those shots. They both have so far to go before they reach their ceiling. It's going to be a blast watching them do so.

Just back to check in on this thread....we really aren’t re-litigating the Ben pick are we? My goodness.

he must of went to see the same specialist Doc Rivers & Carlos Boozer went to >_>
He spends 1M per year on his body so he probably sees Hair Club For Men or whatever as another investment. Look young, feel young , play to you are 40 cement legacy as GOAT. He wants to stick around long enough to play a game with against kid, another 5-6 years. He'd probably have the all-time scoring record by then too. I am rooting for him honestly despite the team he's on.

Interesting stat line - the Kings shoot a hair better total FG percentage. But the Raptors shoot double the volume of threes making a better percentage of them fueling a 9 pt differential. The other bit from more FTs

If you were going bald, it mattered to you and you had the money to fix it, wouldn't you do it?

Not hating on the man for this.

that first picture is scary...he needs to go with the Quincy Acy look all ready

With lazy-stein our collective IQ is negative a million and with lzy-stein and Bmac it is negative 3 million (i.e., UNwinnable).

Get rid of those two. Bagley is already better thn willie and anyone without baby hands is better than ben.

The KIngs were beat by a better team. Bagley got 22/11 to lead the team in both categories. Bogdan close to a triple double. The Kings' were out shot especially from the 3, outrebounded, and got fewer trips to the foul line. That is the game right there.

Bagley got 11 boards, Bogdan got 8, YOGI got 7, and our starting center got 6. When Yogi Ferrell outrebounds your center you have a problem.

The Kings' offense has really sputtered in recent games down to a little over 100 points per game. Maybe they are tired, maybe other teams have figured out how to play them. Seems like a good time to examine the offense and make some adjustments.
