Kings Practice Quotes-02/22/05

well when you say the something like...

"...the people who seem to be the most adamant about how THEY THINK Pedja feels are those who seem to live the furthest away from Sacramento."

everyone who posted in this thread who lives far away is gonna think "is she talking about me?"

so i just had to straight out ask...i wanted to know for sure

The "bum hamstring" didn't just pop out of thin air. I was watching the game when it popped. You could actually see it...

and i was there...it's a hamstring problem

don't ya just love how i stated the obvious just now

Thing is, if he's still here after Thursday(or whenever the deadline is), does it matter? We are gonna be stuck with him(and vice versca) for the rest of the season either way.

I've deleted the post I made. I'm very sorry if you felt I was picking on you in any way, shape or form. I thought my comment was clear. Apparently it must not have been.

My concern is for the good of the team. We have enough rumblings in the media now and the tendency of some writers is to grasp any hint of ANY KIND of problem and blow it up into a major concern, failing, etc.

I would hate to see Pedja suffer as far as public perception goes because he is here, the consensus is he doesn't want to be here, etc.

Any problem he has, such as the flu, the hamstring, etc. could and most likely WILL be used by some to indicate he's just making the motions, etc. I personally think he deserves better than that...

:(

Peja is the only one who knows what Peja is thinking. He may be happy here, he may not. He may want a trade, he may not. For us to try and guess what he is REALLY thinking is ludicrous unless someone here is a phychic and if so....what are the lotto #'s for tonights drawing? But seriously, everyone needs to stop speculating and wait to see what happens.

BTW, I give you what it sounds like when you're a shooter rumored to be on the block and want to make it clear you want to stay:

Michael Redd: "I Want To Retire As A Buck."02/23 -

Michael Redd returned to the Bucks line-up on Tuesday and wasted no time to prove that he is one of the league's top players, scoring 39 points.

He also commented on his status with his current club.

``I said it all year long and I will say it again -- I am committed to Milwaukee, I want to come back and they have made a commitment to me,'' Redd said. ``They told me they are not going to trade me and I believe that.''

Rumors have centered on Redd being traded to the Golden State Warriors for Dale Davis and Mike Dunleavy.

``I want to retire as a Buck. This is a team that took a chance on me five years ago when they drafted me in the second round and I have flourished, my game has flourished,'' he said. ``I am loyal ... all I know is Milwaukee.''

I feel your pain:( , but whether peja was sincere or not, his comment could be looked at as shielding himself, the team and fans. If he'd said "I don't like it here", the fans would be pissed, he'd probably alienate himself from some teammates, writers would have a feild day with their speculation and unnamed "sources" and then he'd REALLY be unhappy.LOL So, be it true or false, he probably said the right thing. I'd rather go through this during the off season than during a crucial time in our schedule.

I don't think Peja would fake an injury. It would make no sense. There were times when Peja was in noticable pain on the floor, yet he chose to play instead of sitting the bench.

I understand why some people here think that Peja comments are insenser. Peja has two different "faces" in the media. One in the Serb press and the other American. In the Serb press he says he wants to leave and in the American press he says he tries to be more "politcally correct" in what he says. I personally dont know which side demonstrates Peja's true feelings and I dont know if he is really happy in Sacramento but he is still a King and should be pouring his heart out every night for his team.

Still to be determined which press is worse. Do not trust either one.

Vf, I don't think he owes us anything. Especially considering how people have been talking about him lately(not just here but all over Sacramento), but I just think if Peja is the type of guy that if he really wanted to stay, when he was asked he would have said, "I don't want to be traded." Instead of... "it's outta my hands." None of us know what he's really thinking, but it would be a whole lot easier for us to know if he just told us whether or not he wants to be traded.

Pedja owes a lot to the Kings and the fans and GP. He has also given a lot

If he were going to be a free agent then he could talk about it more specifically.

At this moment " it is out of his hands"

So many players (very good ones too) said that they did not want to be traded and that did not help them, Heck, Webber did not want to come to Sac and now he does not want to leave. Only when You are a FA you have the "say" - other than that You have to keep all doors open and be smart about what You say.

i find myself actually agreeing with you on this one. ;)

peja is being careful, cuz he knows every word he says will be scrutinized by the media, local and otherwise. he made a good decision in his overall vagueness. no need to stir up controversy that just aint there.

I'm not sure how much controversy he would stir up if he said, "I don't want to be traded." except with his agent of course...
