Kings Playoff Standings Watch!!!

Is Zion coming back at all? New Orleans could be scary if so
That's what make the bottom teams dangerous. They have stars coming back and teams that beat them before will have a second thought. Pelicans w/ Zion Williamson, GS possibly with Wiggins back, Lakers w/ Lebron and Anthony already back and Russell, Wolves w/ Conley is a totally different team plus KAT coming back and Clippers w/ Kawhi, George and Zubac coming back is going to be much more effective.

I think for GS, if they have Wiggins back...they're going to be hard to beat with GPII now in the lineup. I would love to see Warriors vs Suns w/ Wiggins coming back, other wise no fun seeing a handicapped team GS vs a full lineup Suns.

Suns vs. Golden State would be an amazing series.

Suns are the most dangerous team to me with Durant and the Warriors are 2nd with Wiggins and GPII on the squad.

I think if we can avoid either of them in the 1st round it's a win.

Paul George is currently injured so I wouldn't mind the Clippers however Pelicans with Zion might not be a walk in the park.

Lakers I think are beatable

I think that's exactly what will happen. I just want our guys rested and healthy

I leave them home for the road trip. Fox has a new baby so I say stay home rest and enjoy your kid. Same for Domas. Stay home and rest. Remember neither guy got the all star break. Other I might rest Keegan, Monk, Lyles
Again, make sure you secure 3 first. Ideally sooner rather than later. Still 1 win away or a PHX loss from doing so.

I'm not a huge fan of shutting guys down with 2 still in play as well. There's not a ton of talent disparity from any of the west teams this year, so I think HCA is going to play a bigger than normal role throughout the playoffs. Obviously, don't run our guys into the ground to chase it, but I don't think you just straight start sitting everyone 2 weeks out of the playoffs. Want to balance minutes and staying sharp.

Also, I think there's just a tier gap between PHX/LAC/GSW and LAL/NOP/Minny. I think we have a much better chance at beating the latter group in a first round series.

LAC/LAL on Wednesday is probably the biggest game left for deciding the top 6. LAC already owns the tiebreaker over LAL, and beating the Lakers again locks them into 43 or 44 wins (depending on if they beat Phoenix). Lakers couldn’t beat that, given that losing to the Clips makes 43-39 their best case. So a clippers win pretty much locks them into the top 6 (either 5 or 6).

But if the Lakers win they are probably the favorite for 6. They’d be a game up on LAC, have tiebreakers with NO and GS, and have an easy schedule.

well PHX is out of the question.

so it’s really LAC/Warriors versus the others. We are 1-3 against Minny without Towns, We never played LA with Davis and we struggled against NO.

Kings need to win against the Spurs to secure the #3 seed and clinch the Pacific Division. The rest of the schedule could go either way.

Given the remaining schedule for other teams, I think we might face the Lakers/Clippers in the first round.

Kings Playoff Tracker

Not much action today. Dallas hurt their cause by losing to the Heat, and the Clippers and the Warriors swapped places, with the Clippers now holding the "coveted" first round matchup against the Kings. Be certain that will change four more times before the season is over.

Meanwhile, just about everybody plays on Sunday. The Kings have two opportunities to lock up the third seed, by either beating the Spurs or with a Suns loss to the Thunder. If everything goes wrong (i.e. a Kings loss and a Denver win) the Kings will be eliminated from the race for the first seed.

Today's games:
Heat def. DAL
NOP def. LAC

Playoff Seeding (Bold games are next day):
-----Kings' Range-----
1) DEN (51-26) 9 [2], GSW, @HOU, @PHX, @UTA, SAC -- TB=Kings
2) MEM (49-28) 7 [4], @CHIC, POR, @NOP, @MIL, @OKC -- TB=Kings
3) SAC (47-30) --, SAS, @NOP, @DAL, GSW, @DEN
4) PHX (42-35) 1, @OKC, SAS, DEN, @LAL, LAC TB=Suns
-----Kings' Range-----

-----Other Teams-----
5) GSW (41-37), @DEN, OKC, @SAC, @POR
6) LAC (41-38), LAL, POR, @PHX --> Current Kings' opponent if standings hold

7) NOP (40-38), SAC, MEM, NYK, @MIN
8) LAL (39-38), @HOU, @UTA, @LAC, PHX, UTA
9) MIN (39-39), POR, @BRK, @SAS, NOP
10) OKC (38-40), PHX, @GSW, @UTA, MEM

11) DAL (37-41), @ATL, SAC, CHI, SAS
12) UTA (36-41), @BRK, LAL, OKC, DEN, @LAL

We played them once with Davis but LeBron was out that game. First time we played them this season.

We got blown out without Fox in NOLA in the middle of a weird road trip after Monk had a birthday (team stayed out late?) and then we blew them out at home. Can’t say they’d be a bad matchup just based off those two games.

Here's hoping! Moving up from the 3 seed to the 2 seed might mean we face the Lakers in the first round instead of the Clippers or Warriors but it would also mean that we would have home-court advantage if we do advance to the second round -- where Memphis' losing record on the road could bite them again. I'm not really fixated on matchups per se but it does some pretty clear that the Lakers want to face us and there's a chance they'd have both Lebron and AD healthy for at least one playoff series. They're always going to be dangerous until one of those guys inevitably gets injured again.
Whoever draws LA is screwed Silver is on a mission for that team he has Reeves drawing calls like prime harden

Kings can come within 1 game of Grizzlies with a win against Spurs on top of taking Pacific.
They have a free win vs POR, but their last 3 games are all on the road vs teams that are still trying for a playoff spot. MIL hasn't secured the 1 seed yet and the Pelicans/Thunder are both still vying for playoofs.

i like 3 better right now. Those play-in teams are scary
Now that Utah seems to be out (and they would have been playing for 8 most likely) I am inclined to agree. I don't want most of them. With any luck the "right" team of the secure teams falls to 6 rather than a team getting hot jumping.

They're so much worse with KAT, it's not even funny. I'd never been more sure about anything before he got back and now he's totally confirmed everyone's thought.
Everyone made it seem like KAT coming back would propel them to another level. When he was healthy they really struggled adjusting to an offense with he and Gobert. Now you have a few games before the Playoffs to get KAT in a rhythm post-injury AND find a fit with Gobert. Not to mention the bad fit defensively. They’ve got some real concerns.
