Kings Playoff Standings Watch!!!

Barring a major late comeback it looks like the Warriors may lose against a jokerless nuggets. Would like to see warriors and clippers win, so we don't have to face the Lakers+refs. Warriors don't scare me as much. Sure they have Curry, but they have regressed so much this season and experience can only take you so far. Also player by player we seem to match up better with the warriors.

Would prefer in this order Pelicans > Clippers > Warriors > Lakers

Sadly, it is possible the Kings drop out of the 3rd seed after losing to the Spurs. I can see the Suns winning the rest of their games on schedule and Kings losing the rest. Kings are playing three teams that are hunting for Playoffs spot but the Suns w/ KD is just superior against anybody they played. Losing to the Spurs is very disappointing...they're one of the worst in the league for a reason...they have no stars and yet we allowed them to play like stars...

Still pretty highly unlikely. The suns would have to win 4 in a row which they can do with the talent that they have, but The Kings are unlikely to lose the remaining 4 games. The last time they loss 4 in a row was the first 4 games at the beginning of the season.

Kings don't go on losing streaks like that so there's no reason to suddenly lose faith in them at this point in the season. People have been talking about some supposed "Rough schedule" since December and we have 47 wins. Come on

Kings Playoff Tracker

Not a lot went right for the Kings today. The loss coupled with the Denver win puts the #1 seed in the West out of reach. And Phoenix's victory in Oklahoma City means we have yet to clinch the #3 seed. But all in all it was a bad day for WC playoff teams/hopefuls. 3 wins and 7 losses, so there wasn't any real movement in the standings (the Lakers moved into a tie with the Pels, that's about it). However, both Dallas and Utah were eliminated from the #6 spot, so they will have to go through the play-in games if they hope to avoid the lottery. The 5/6/7/8 spot are all separated by a half game, so trying to figure who's going to finish 6th is still a fool's errand.

Monday is a dead day because the NBA never schedules any games on the night of the NCAA Basketball Championship. Instead I've marked the games for Tuesday, and we'll obviously skip the update tomorrow. The Kings will again have two chances to sew up at least the #3 seed. With a loss to the Warriors, the Thunder would eliminate themselves from the #6 position and guarantee a play-in at best.

I'd rather play the Lakers than the Warriors
The Lakers are currently 15-7 after the trade and trending upwards with momentum all while playing with key guys in and out of their line up. In comparison the warriors have looked pretty average even with their main guys healthy and playing together. Then it comes down to would you rather face 2 superstars in Lebron and Davis or 1 superstar in Curry? It seems easier to contain 1 superstar as opposed to 2. Also I don't know how much I buy into the refs helping the Lakers, but there could be a slight unconscienced bias for the Lakers there. Both will still be tough but still leaning slightly towards the Warriors.

fixed it

If it does I would predict Clips beat the Pels for 7th and Dallas wins the 8th seed.

Nuggets
Mavs

Grizz
Clips

Kings
Lakers

Suns
Warriors

On paper that is just an insane playoff lineup.

I am also assuming that they will have Wiggins back. Without Wiggins I might agree with you

I had thought by the Lakers bringing in the stars they would score in bunches.
Just never really thought the main difference would be how many times they would get to shoot free throws.

I have been watching that stat but last night was like wow I have never seen a stat like that. Lakers shot 28 compared to 10 for the rockets and Green had all 8 points the rockets made from the line.

Wiggins will be back maybe against us and Mavs are thinking of shutting down Luka and Kyrie so they can keep their draft pick. Things just got more interesting
I now have to look, but thought they lost their draft pick in the Kyrie trade. Regardless go ahead and shut it down, unfortunately I don’t think we will get 50/wins after yesterday.

Still pretty highly unlikely. The suns would have to win 4 in a row which they can do with the talent that they have, but The Kings are unlikely to lose the remaining 4 games. The last time they loss 4 in a row was the first 4 games at the beginning of the season.
If the team were to lose the remaining 4, it would technically be 5 in a row (counting the Spurs loss).

Extremely unlikely, but hopefully, they win today to foreclose any doubts :)

If the team can't get up for a series against the Lakers then why bother. That's the dream matchup for me.
I kind of wanted the Mavs before they fell to pieces. If we are worried about these teams at full strength, Lakers are most likely to suffer an injury to a star in the post-season. If we have to play one of our pacific division rivals I feel safest with the other LA team but honestly I just hope whoever we match up with we get a fair shake with the officiating.

There would be a certain joy in beating the Lakers and knocking them out, but damn would it be painful if it went the other way. Especially/particularly because of the Windhorst stuff.
