Well, in response to a trolly feeling thread on a somewhat similar topic, I thought I would start a series of more interesting ones just to see where peeps heads are.

So, for the upcoming season, where would you rank Marcus Thronton amongst the league's SGs?

ATL: J.Johnson
BOS: Allen
CLE: A.Parker? Gibson?
CHA: Henderson
NYK: Fields
NJN: Morrow?
PHL: Meeks? or Turner?
WSH: Young?
MIA: Wade
ORL: Richardson
MIL: S.Jackson or GhostofRedd?
CHI: Hamilton
DET: B.Gordon? or Knight?
TOR: DeRozan
IND: George?
MEM: T.Allen
DAL: Stevensen? Carter?
NOH: E.Gordon
LAC: Billups? M.Wiliams?
LAL: Bryant
PHX: Dudley? S.Brown?
SAS: Ginobili
HOU: Martin
MIN: W. Johnson? M. Webster?
UTH: Bell? Burks?
DEN: Afflalo?
GSW: Ellis
OKC: let's say Harden instead of Sefalosha
POR: Matthews (or possibly Crawford?)
SAC: Thornton

OK, trying the same thing here, again on the short-term assumption. I guess I'll try to rank all of your possibilities.

Bryant, Wade
--------
J. Johnson, E. Gordon, Ginobili, R. Allen, Ellis
------------
Harden, S. Jackson, Billups, J. Richardson
------------
Matthews, Thornton, Martin, Crawford, B. Gordon
------------
Sefalosha, DeRozan, Hamilton, Fields, George, Dudley, Afflalo, Turner, Morrow, T. Allen
----------
W. Johnson, Stevenson, Carter, S. Brown, M. Williams, Young, Henderson, Bell, A. Parker, M. Webster, Knight, Gibson, Meeks, Burks

Solid list, I would put him on the top of your 3rd list though. Deff Above Jrich and Billups ( as a 2 ) .. right in the mix with Harden and Jackson.

Once again, my top ten. I did this one a little differently since I think the SG postion has the biggest lack of star material of just about any of the positions once you get past the top 3 or 4. After that you have to really sit and ponder who should go where. So I tried to use two rules. One put them in the top ten if they deserved to be there, and two, don't put anyone above Thornton that you wouldn't trade Thornton for straight up. So with that in mind.

1. K. Bryant
2. D. Wade
3. J. Johnson
4. R. Allen
5. Ginobili
6. E. Gordon
7. S. Jackson
8. M. Ellis
9. J. Harden
10. M. Thornton

To be honest, there are some on the list that I wouldn't trade Thornton for because of their age. I probably have Thornton higher than most, but I think by years end he'll have earned that spot.

I have great hopes for Thornton and seeing the comments of the people about the scrimmage didn't change my mind. Occasionally all the NBA teams have a major ooops! moment and let a star fall to the second round. Let us hope this is one of them.

I still think it's an irony that he is making more money than most of the first rounders of his year. The guy is so dang humble that he won't shoot his mouth off about it but simplet see himself as blessed. He's a keeper.
