One thing I overlooked is when Woj said "I think they [Kings] see this essentially as a 4 player draft.. there's a drop-off after 4"
We could end up with Ivey after all.
I don't think Woj has any inside sources with the Kings, which is why he says, "I think". Most pundits have seen this as either a 3 or 4 player draft for months.

If we had a hole at PG, I'd easily draft Ivey at #4 and call it a day. His talent is polarizing, but I don't think he's a can't-miss prospect.

But with Woj saying that teams outside the lotto are also looking to trade for him... that's a game-changer right there.
Ivey is definitely not a PG.

The Kings have been a poorly run franchise for a very long time. If they say the #4 is available on a trade I'm sure a lot of crap offers will roll in to see if the Kings FO is dumb enough to accept them.

We'll see what really happens in a week.

I don't even need Grant, just give me Bey+5 for 4 and filler. Bey answers a lot of the Kings spacing/wing problems and I think still has real defensive upside. Bey-Keegan are literally perfect for a modern 3-4 duo with regards to spacing/length/switchability on defense.

And we know Monte already called about Bey, so could be some finagling going on there
Monte also missed out on DDV at first but ended up getting him later. Maybe the same for Bey?

This is the Jackson Pollock painting of trade proposals

Wizards give up 3 players, get back 8, and start the summer with enough guys on the roster to scrimmage the Commanders.

Kings don’t make out too bad, winding up with a disgruntled All-Star potentially as a 1 year rental, only needing to break the Stepien Rule and sit out the next 4 drafts to do it.

Sixers are involved seemingly for no reason other than to give away valuable assets and watch the world burn.

Love the off-season. Embrace the chaos.

Must admit, getting more and more on the Daniels bandwagon. Helps that I live in Australia and always root for Aussie talent.
If all this Interest in Ivey is correct, I’d be more than happy to milk Detroit or Indy then take Daniels. Don’t think he's going to fall any further than that.

I know not everyone is on board with DDV but it's hard for me to believe that Monte worked so hard to get him here he'd S&T him so soon.

Besides DDV and Sabonis, Bey is maybe the only other player we've heard Monte really pursued. So that sure would be an interesting trade scenario with Detroit. I am not sure what kind of filler we have to send them to get it done. It sure seems a lot more likely to me that we would work out a deal with them than Indy though. And this is where smoke about Daniels could be huge, because it makes a threat to a team like Washington for the 4 pick real enough for Detroit to cough up real assets just to move up one spot. If that happens and we wind up with Murray and Detroit with Ivey I'll buy a Washington jersey* as a thank you for the assist.

Bullets, tho.

I’m going to prefer Daniels over Murray if Bey is coming our way, but either way would be happy with the outcome.

Wizard fans really don't seem to understand how awful their negotiating position is.
I would do #4 + Holmes/filler for Deni, Kuz, + 10 + ______? Then try to find a way to get Daniels or stay at #10 and take whoever remains there: Sochan, Dieng, Jalen Williams, or Mathurin.

I watched an abnormally amount of Wiz games the last few years. Deni is not quite as good a shooter that he was projected to be, but is turning out to be a better perimeter defender than expected, and is a plus connector. His connecting stats often got swallowed by Russ (the year before) and Beal. Deni would be a worth a late lotto to mid first alone.

#4 & Len to DET for #5 and Bey would let the Kings take Daniels, Sharpe, or Murray and should help clear up their lack of wings.

Sabonis/Holmes/Jones or Queta
Barnes/Lyles/Metu (or Murray)
Bey/Harkless/Holiday
DiVincenzo/Daniels or Sharpe/Davis
Fox/Mitchell

Is a good start. I'm not a fan of Grant (especially in a contract year) but if you could net him as well for Richaun and change and flip him in a three team deal for an additional piece or two I think you have to do that.

A couple FA signings and hitting on either 2nd rounder and/or an UDFA and I think things start moving in the right direction.

Watching Knicks fans and Wizards fans bicker over Jaden Ivey on the internet is absolutely hilarious given that neither fan base seems anywhere close to willing to give up any assets whatsoever in a trade up while Pacer fans are talking about offering up their unprotected first in next year’s draft to move up and Piston fans are slowly coming around to trading Bey to move up one slot.
