It would be an interesting play. At any rate his advanced stats this year were outrageous and he did a lot better athletically at the combine (lane agility, shuttle run) than I expected. I can see why teams would get scared away top 5, but at 13, you get a huge guy who rebounds, fills up the paint on D, and has ridiculous gravity in the post, which will free up a ton of open threes. The problem for us is whether he'd be relegated to the bench permanently, or whether we could find a way to play him beside Domas. Domas at the 4 could work reasonably well on offense, but on D could be a disaster.
D could also be a zone with a massive human shutting down the key. Teams would (maybe) have to start game planning for Edey lineups and non-Edey lineups. Plus, maybe cuts in half the amount of shots to Sabonis’ face.
I’m intrigued by Edey and wouldn’t hate it if the Kings drafted him (would rather have Edey than any of the short guards).
