Kings' opponents high free throw percentage

#1
I posted it a couple days ago in a game thread but I guess it got lost, so I made a new thread about it. It's not about the many free throws missing that everybody is aware about it but how much better Kings' opponents are shooting from the line this season.

So, the Kings' opponents shoot with 81% this season (3rd best or worst in the league depending how you look it) and at G1C they shoot with 81.8 that is the highest by far (Brooklyn has 80.5 in "2nd" place). Isn't this a bit not normal regarding that the stadium is quite loud, the fans want to get free cookies etc? Last season it used to be 78% (at home) more or less like league average. If you add this to the fact that the Kings shoot way less (and hit even less) free throws this season makes it a quite big free throws made differential compared with last season.

So any idea why this is happening? Is it because Kings tend not to play so good defense, the shooters find a good rhythm, get good vibes and make their free throws easily? Is it because G1C has not so many distracting things to cause them to miss either by fans either by the stadium audio facilities like the wolf sound in Minnesota, can't think of something else, 77.4 the percentage there btw, Washington is the area with the lowest, followed by Denver, Houston and New York. Are we fouling the most efficient players? Are we not fouling hard enough?

The fact that Houston (74.7% the only team below 75%) has the best "defense" in that category makes me think that it's related with Brooks and his "psycho war" gimmicks to his opponents. We don't have anyone like him to intimidate the star of the other team, not any dirty player either that will make the other team worry (which is ok in a way, I don't encourage dirty plays) but then again I am not sure this is the reason, it can't be pure luck though like some people think it's related with opponents 3point percentage, that the Kings are also dead last at home with the visitors shooting 40.2% in G1C, the only team that allows more than 40% in the league.

In general, it may be that the Kings are a tough win for many teams during the last couple of years. In order to get a win the opponents know that the Kings tend to foul frequently and that making their foul shots is essential to getting that point margin for a win.

Thus, the opposing coaches hammer on their team to convert their free points. The players have a heightened concentration and urgency to perform at the line.

Unfortunately, it doesn't apply to the Kings since they usually attempt far fewer foul shots due to officials "missing" fouls. Also, not making a high percentage of foul shots hurts on top of that. The Kings are forced into scoring on the court rather than at the line. In most games they can do that but during an off night it is a challenge to get those few points that can make the difference in the outcome.

I thought I jinxed it for the visitors today with Houston going 4/7 at the start (Sengun giving away cookies) but nope the Rockets shot well after that making 18/20 later on (22/27 in total) and of course made their 3s as well (12/29) and won quite easily at the end.

After the cookies free throws, there wasn't so much effort from the fans to force them to miss (they weren't so loud at least), so maybe they should add something else for the crowd to motivate them? I think in some arena(s) there is a bonus for a prize if the visitors miss free throws in the 4th quarter, not sure if it's an extra bonus or the standard one.
