Checking in.

Holy poopoo, 38 for Thomas? Where the hell was everyone else?

No one else showed up other than JT in the first where IT kept us in it. Then they put Sefelosha on him to start the 3rd, we tried to go to Gay and Cousins and they both were embarassing tbh.

A six game road trip including Indiana, Memphis, OKC ending with Houston is really the last thing this team needed, chemistry was building, but you saw signs tonight of the wheels falling off. Hopefully they bounce back vs New Orleans.

You can't play all your games at home on three days rest for the whole season. Every team would build team chemistry if that were the case.

Obviously, but this team is radically different since the Gay trade, if they had a full training camp they would at least have an identity and a better understanding. As it is, we look good when things are going our way, when a team get gets in our face we become a sloppy mess.

They look like a sloppy mess for sure, but I thought they looked that way even with the lead in this game and the last few games.

Watching, I presume. I noticed that Jerry said that those people who criticize IT don't know anything so I turned off the game. At least a couple of you are in good company.

What is this supposed to mean?

It means that if Jerry was a Kingsfans poster he would be amongst the very few of us that appreciate and recognize what IT brings most every night. I also don't get why fans think Jerry has some agenda from upstairs to praise/ talk up IT, last time I heard IT makes less than a million a year for us and will be a free agent after this season, in no sense is he the "face of the franchise" that the FO wants its announcers to talk up to the fanbase and sell as a star. Maybe its just an old man thats been around the game his whole life and recognizes a good player when he see's one.

Yea, the same old man who says that shotblocking is over rated and that stretch 4s are the key to winning NBA championships.

That may be the the stupidest thing Jerry has ever said and that's saying something. If everyone who's ever criticized IT knows nothing about basketball then absolutely no one knows anything about basketball since the people who have never criticized any players game probably don't know anything about basketball

Grant and Jerry generally get excited by players who are the size of a normal human being or smaller. They may as well have been the chairmen of the Bobby Jackson fan club and they were needlessly enthused by such talents as Bobby Brown and Poo Jeter. Hell they would freak out every time Earl Boykin showed up. Not an attack on IT, just saying that Grant and Jerry love small people.

I don't know, they seemed pretty impressed by Kevin Durant, a 6'11 small forward.

I never heard that from him, but what im guessing he meant is that good team defense, meaning proper rotations, helping at the right time is just as important as sticking a 7 footer with wingspan out there to try an contest whatever comes his way. Yes, having a shotblocker is great help, but they have to have High IQ within the defense and 5 guys working as a unit, otherwise Javele Mcgee would be DPOY material.

Also stretch 4's, or spot up shooting is very important in the modern NBA, look at the Heat, Mavericks titles, full of 3-pt shooters like Battier, Miller, Chalmers, Stojakovic, Terry, Barea, Caron Butler, Jason Kidd. Heck the Magic made the finals with a young Howard and a bunch of spot shooter around him.

Don't want to be that guy but every single name you listed is not a stretch four.

Grant and Jerry are offensive result oriented. They only talk about defense in the paint. If Isaiah scored 30 a night but gave up 60 and only had 5 ast they would say he is best pg in the NBA.

Now having said that Isaiah is a great scorer could be top 50 in the NBA. But on a team with to elite players such as Gay and Cousins. A top scoring ball dominant pg is not what you need. I really don't see where this is not understood.

Battier was used as a stretch 4 for the Heat, and Magic had Rashard Lewis and Ryan Anderson, in general i mean that spot up shooting is essential in the modern NBA, where dribble penetration is such a big part of the game(the stretch 4 is unique because it forces the opposing 4 out of the paint, opening up space for the dribble penetrators or guys that demand a double team, i.e Wade, Lebron, Nowitzki).

You started off with stretch 4's then went straight to 3 point shooters. Naming barea miller Peja. These things are not like the other.

I know lets have a stretch 4 and a stretch 5 nobody in paint everybody behind three point line and just let Isaiah beat his man all night off the dribble.

Yes, they all provide floor spacing, the stretch 4 is unique in that it forces a big that would normally be in the paint out to guard a shooter, but generally a stretch 4 is a stand still 3 pt shooter like Miller, Stojakovic, Barea, unless im wrong and a stretch 4 is a dynamic ball handling PF that slashes to the rim.

Didn't we have that with Patrick Patterson? It failed
