And I wouldnt blame you one bit, I was just kind of answering your "why Aneheim" question.

The Maloofs have been in California for a longgggggg time. Its rare that a team who needs to move actually has the option to move in the same state. Im not saying they want to move, or that they should move to Aneheim, I just see why they would prefer it over any other available location. I would think its much more convenient for them.

Dont forget this could all be a smokescreen type situation. Get the word out there to light a fire under the people in charge of approving a new arena. We'll have to wait and see.

Proababy a half dozen cities are "in the hunt" to one degree or another but all have upside and downside. In San Jose's case you make the upside points. The downside is a territorial fee may be in play or possible rejection by board of governors, questions about ownership remaining in hands of Maloofs or say Oracle zillionaire Larry Ellison, etc.

Or it could be one of those Westphal and Petrie are getting fired type of stories that comes out of nowhere then never comes to fruition.

the thing is that the guy doesn't even have a new car, it's just a few years newer and has better miles per gallon.

That is a good point. However, I'm going to remain under the impression that this is true until shown otherwise.

I agree and still think they see possibility of getting the NBA to Las Vegas through the back door so to speak. While relocating officially to Anaheim but having some games scheduled in Vegas once they get their arena done. Kind of a fall back to few years the franchise was known as Kansas City/Omaha Kings. You know, this is terribly depressing considering all these Maloof machinations.

The maloofs are in dire financial straits. The $100 million loan to pay off the relocation fee and the sac loan are probably the leading factors for anaheim being in the lead. The maloofs would be better off selling to larry ellison who has all the money in the world.
 
I have a hard time seeing them decide this soon, but I think it's obvious at this point that the Kings will be leaving.

Yeah it makes no sense to me that they wouldn't at least wait it out one more year and see what happens with this ICON thing. What they've been trying to accomplish for 10 years could be just around the corner, and they're gonna sabotage it to take a 100 million dollar loan to go play 3rd fiddle in SoCal?

As I've said before, the Maloofs are among the more impulsive owners in the league. These are the same guys who announced they were trading for Ron Ron before our own gm and coach even knew.
 
This is way too emotionally taxing... I don't know what I would do without the Kings. The thought of another fan base, especially one in OC, rooting on Cousins, Tyreke, and the rest of OUR teams future while we sit here with nothing disgusts me.

It would be a colossally dumb move in my opinion. The great majority of people in SoCal are Laker fans by default and wouldn't give two ****s about The Kings (or whatever they'd be called). Heck, The Clippers don't even sell out their games and they have the most exciting player in the NBA. If the Clippers can't even sell out in a market with 10+ million, what makes them think The Kings would do any better right next door?

I hear ya. I guess that's what happens when we forget that basketball is a business, though. We like to think of them as "our" team but they aren't ours anymore than any other business in Sacramento is.

I honestly dont have a good answer for you on that but then again, I'm not the Maloofs.
 
pretty sure it would be a better idea to play in stephen currys shadow rather than blake griffin, Gasol and kobe's shadow.

Get something done San Jose!

Bleak humor: Well time to focus on renovating Raley Field so we can move the A's here.

Sacramento NEEDS pro sports of some nature.
 
I say we get as many kings fans as possible to put on there jerseys and picket in the most populace place in the Sacramento area in order to raise awareness of the situation.... I'm having a hard time feeling powerless.

the thought makes me sick to my stomache. we are finally on the upswing and about to lose the team. this is the next OKC team. we get to suffer for 5 ****ing years because of no rebuild. now they finally are going to rebuild and bolt out of town. LAME
