.500 is great but thats not what is important this year fighting and growth are whats important this year. Getting a good pick would be good this year too.

We're just enjoying it while it lasts, November is the easiest month of our schedule this year. We have the rest of the season to chase a good draft pick.

Great game tonight by the Kings.. Calls didn't seem to be there but we will earn more respect as we play better. You can already tell this is a totally different team than before. I don't mind watching this team.. Last year I hated the team.

You know? They played really well against a very good team. We dont have an answer for a Dirk Nowitski. We dont have an answer for a Jason Terry. They just have players and we dont have the players to make that many turnovers (21) and still have a chance to win. The Mav's are a great team, and they are going to win if you allow Jason Kidd to hit wide open 3's. Beno had no reason whatsoever not to be out on Kidd. He is too small to help double team down in the interior.

We have to play smarter on the road if you want to have a chance to win. Tyreke Evans played well, but he can not be a one man team! The Kings play their best basketball when they are moving the ball and getting all players involved. Give everyone a chance in the game by getting everyone a touch and a chance to take a better shot. Dallas played well, but they were totally beatable tonight. I think the defense against Nowitski was acceptable. It was good enough to beat the Mavs tonight. But when a very old and slow Jason Kidd gets that many wide open 3's and sinks 5 of 9, that is the difference of the game. Beno was for some reason sinking down to help on the bigs which doesnt work and often didnt even make an effort to go out to play Kidd. Too many turnovers, and too many wide open 3's from a shooter that is so old he is no longer a threat to drive the ball. Beno should have been on him the whole time. It was a mental lapse by Beno to leave Kidd.

Hawes had 6 rebounds and Gooden, who was playing center for the Mavs had 16. Hawes is taller and should have had more but he had another poor game. Hawes just needs to play better than he has. He IS a liability on defense and he isn't making any real contribution of offense with 6 stinking points. When are we going to see Hawes have that breakout game that we have been waiting for? A double double with 15 and 11 would be nice. He is pressing and now is struggling in every game. WE have NO ONE to put in to replace him. It is imperative that Hawes has a turn around and starts playing well like the rest of the team. This is Hawes 3RD YEAR! This is supposed to be the year where everything clicks for him but he isnt clicking. I am beginning to think it never will. Maybe PW should just go with Sean May at center. He as at least pulling down rebounds when he is in.

Jason Thompson could have made an even better contribution if he has not gotten those early fouls. He STILL had a good game with 18 and 8. JT isn't the problem. The problem the Kings have is at the center position. JT is a LOAD in the paint. Even experienced forwards are having trouble stopping JT. He has slowed down and is becoming more patient under the rim and that has added up to more scoring and dunks.

I think Casspi is still bothered by the ankle, and I think that Nochoni is also still getting his feet under him. I believe that if the Kings can sustain this kind of effort they will really give Houston trouble tomorrow. I am really excited about the way these Kings are playing and the effort is there! I say these Kings are going in the right direction. GO KINGS !!!

p.s. they need to trade for another center that can play defense and maybe score around the hoop. I know K9 is contributing but how about we trade him and his bloated contract for a center that can help us WIN! We have some trade bait, Petrie needs to get on the phone and help this young team out. Hawes needs MORE TIME.

p.s.s. Monarchs Basketball going under is WAY overdue, and unless a sport is sustainable without being subsidized by the mens game, then that sport needs to go away. I just think that women's sports in general are not sustainable and should go away. they are a huge drain on the mens sports in college and that needs to stop too!!

And that is the catch-22 that's going to make it so tough on Hawes to snap out of this funk, slump, whatever. He's struggling because he does want to contribute to the team and the more he struggles, the less effective he is.

I'm pretty sure the pressure he's putting on himself is worse than anything anyone on the outside could put on him.

I hope he can have a good game against the Rockets. That might go a long way towards getting him back on the right track.

Nope! I BELIEVE!!

Key words. I believe! Extremely important to an athlete. Thats the major difference between this team and last years team. Toughness and athleticism aside. This team believes it can win. Even when we don't think it can win. They have the talent, and they have the desire. All they need is the experience. Unfortuantely there is no shortcut to experience. Now its just the ellimination of mistakes. It will take a while, but it should be fun to watch...

Hawes is a competitor. He knows he's not doing well, he's got to be feeling it. He can't be happy with his performance.

But it doesn't really matter. The Kings are not contenders this year. It's a woodshed year. The best thing we can do as fans is support Hawes to build up his confidence. He either improves or he doesn't. Might as well see what he can do.

I think Westphal is trying to build up his confidence and I approve.
