Hall of Famer
Will NOT be able to do a game thread for the Rockets game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing lasts forever but some things are really nice while they last such as our 4 game winning streak that was ended by the Bulls on Tueasday night. Kings dropped to 5-5, 4-3 at home and they will have a difficoult task to stay at 0.500 considering the 3 game road trip including Mavs, Rockets in a back to back set as well as the Grizzlies. Additionally, for the first time this season Kings failed to win a quarter
--------------------------------------------------------------------
We lost the game, we deserved to lose the game but we didn't quit and that is yet another new quality of this team. In the recent past all it took was a 10-0 run of the opponent for the Kings team to play possum for the rest of the game. And sure enough those runs came. Sometimes it was 12-0 sometimes it was 22-1 run but games were over quickly and garbage time was expanded from the last few minutes of the 4th quarter to the rest of the season. Right now, it looks like we will lose many games but we won't quit. We will play for 48 minutes. We might suck, we might play poorly, we might turn it over more than the stock market but we will still play.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
One draft pick was the difference between Noah and Hawes and yet again we were on the dark side. It makes all the difference. If I gave you some clues like - leads the league in rebounding, averages a double double, shooting 56% and has not attempted a three yet vs. not averaging double double, shooting barely 40% and has 0-13 from down town this season - could you pick the right guy ?:p
There is still hope for Spencer to become a man first and then maybe a center. Is it ever going to happen? Probably not, because what you need to get ther - you can't learn. It is in your nature. Spencer's upper limit as a player can be Brad Miller level and that would be overachieving.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Season barely started but Kings continue with the tradition of having multiple key pieces being injured. Right now, we have no bench and even if we hadd all our players we would be extremely short. It was nice to se Sergio come in and contribute but it isn't enough especially when you can not replace "Mr. Charmin" and " Mr. Fumble Fingers" - out two starters up front. One is extremely soft anf the other can't catch the ball right and needs 3 attemps for a layup which helps him to average double double and to be a good offensive rebounder. Hell, even Mikki caught a ball from time to time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kings vs Mavs - good old times, lots of points, lots of drama and lots of Kings wins but also the most devastating loss - the Webber injury in 2003. In the big picture - they did achieve more and lasted longer than us. It is a personal satisfaction for me that they didn't go all the way either. I don't like them, never have, never will. The owner, Irk, Finley and so on... Right now - I believe that we are in a better position because we are going uphil. However, their owner is not afaraid to spend so they can change everything next summer.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
After several games in which we played opponenets who don't defend, bulls showed us that we have a long way to go. They beat us easy with their defense. Held us uo season low 87 points, caused 21 turnover. We made a run and had a chance to cut it to 5 but missed a layup and turned the ball over in two consecutive possesions. After that they closed the door.

AWARD TIME

Pargo gets the TDM for those Jordan-esque 2 minutes when he scored 12 points sponsored by Kings defense

LW-VC went to Rose sponsored by Evans

JHA is earned by Spencer "charmin" Hawes for his aweful performance

RA&1 - Kirk "elephant" Hinrich was garbage

SAR-Methuselah - Brad has slowed down:eek:

Jax-Walk - Evans gets it for 0-4 from three. neither one was close, in fact they looked ugly. Even Popeye Jones had better form.

WTF moment of the game - Kings blocking out Noah
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mavs are next in Dallas. Needless to say that it will be a difficoult task even if we were healthy despite them not being healthy. We have no noe that can guard Itk which means that he will shoot 20 FTs tonight. Evans Kidd matchup will be interesting to watch as well as Hawes vs 3pt line matchup, Thompson vs layup matchup. maybe Donte can light them up.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Evans - go to the basket more
Udrih - keep it up
Donte - nice
Hawes -
Thompson - catch that ball and dunk it !!!

KT - hopefully won't get to guard Irk
Casspi - more consistancy please
Udoka - hit them hard
Sergio - do it again

rest - get well soon
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mavs 2 9-3 and 4-1 at home are 2nd best in the West. They were beaten by Wizards in Dallas so we do have a chance. They have lots of injured players like us. Barea wins the TDM eventhough Beaubois is way tu new and hard to pronounce so he might get his career high too. Hope that Terry gets the TDM.
This would be great great win but realistically we will again fall below 0.500.

Taking the glass-half-full perspective...

Noc has proven to be the final straw in terms of injuries. We have no experienced leaders able to play now and are short on vets. Against an equally talented team we're at a serious disadvantage, even worse against a more talented team.

For now I'm happy to see us cultivating our bench players and improving our draft position with Lins.

this is gonna be a tough game but howard and im pretty sure marion will be out(sprained his ankle last game)

Kidd and Evans will be a good matchup..
We will have to contain Terry if we want to win this. I have nightmares of that dude.

You failed to mention that one of our supposedly most talented guys is also playing like fodder.

I give the kings an outside shot in this one, because I think it will be a close game.

First, I've been following dallas pretty closely, and I don't think they are playing as well as their record would indicate. Dirk is playing well, real well. Dirk beat Milwauke at the buzzer on a some-what lucky bounce. And then Dirk had to play outstanding and hit just about everything he put up so they could beat san antonio, without duncan/parker/ginobli.

Tyreke plays well on the road, and seems to respond well to big games. Dallas can be an intimidating place for a rookie to play, but so can NO(home opener) and Utah, where Tyreke probably had his best two games of the season so far.

If Spencer gives us anything, which I am hoping he will since Dampier is out, that helps takes the pressure off everyone else, so we're not playing 4 on 5 like the last couple times Spencer has suited up.

Our chances of winning tomorrow rest purely on the shoulders of Spencer Hawes. He needs to step up and contribute. No more of this 4 on 5 crap.

Will NOT be able to do a game thread for the Rockets game.

Got it.

Venom_7 seems to be under alot of school pressure, and the way the game thread didn't get done last time was, well, embarrassing. So I will do the game threads if Piksi can't, unless Venom_7 sends me a PM. That should eliminate our hangups.

So, Dirk is a beast again, huh? He will have to go off for 45 to beat us, which is completely... possible. Unlikely, but possible.

Rise Guys said that Donte was going to start tonight.
So I guess that means we'll be seeing alot of our boy Kenny guarding Dirk...oh well, as long as we keep losing our key players to injury the Maloofs will have to plan ALOT more free buffet games to get anyone to go...10,000 attendance would be an overachievement I think.:D

You're not kidding!! I have a feeling he's gonna tear us apart!
He'll get his 30, Dirk will get his 30, Howard will get 20 something, Kidd will probably get a triple dub, and Marion will get his 20/20 against us...no doubt about that. Should be a fun game to watch!!:(

edit: Queue theme from 'Dallas'...it's gonna be a LOOOOOONG night!

I'll be rooting for my Kings to win, but I'm getting a bad feeling about this game. I hope I'm wrong, but we really need Nocioni back!

Aren't Howard and Marion out and Dampier questionable?! Thats some pretty big outs and brings us within some sort of chance to pull this out.

I hope we destroy the Mavs! My buddy is a die hard Mavs fan and has been talking trash all week. I know its a long shot but if we play well we can get it done!

I definately think the houston game is more winable. Its there first game back after a very long road trip, and a back 2 back in atlanta. But I think this game will be close, and I give us a fighting chance. Dirk has been on a tear lately, but no one else is really playing that well for them.
