Real talk. They just kicked the Dubs rear ends. Crazy how "kings" fans will gloss things over to meet their Luk-agenda

Every team has beaten a team they shouldn’t. Didn’t the Knicks snap their long losing streak against the suddenly white hot Spurs?

To quote Bill Parcells, “you are what your record says your are”. In the case of the Mavs, they are 16-games UNDER .500 and the 2nd worst team in the West, 6th worst overall.

It’s factual to say that they’re not a good team. But that doesn’t mean they’re incapable of pulling off an occasional upset. However considering that Dallas is 7-30 on the road, that win over a struggling GSW was the rare exception, not the rule. That one game doesn’t supercede 45 losses and counting with 30 on the road.

All I'm saying is some here were not levying the same criticism towards Cousins when we were similarly bad.

Not true. That’s precisely the same criticism Boogie received from the National media and some fans for many years. It’s true that some of us were a bit forgiving considering the KINGS completely wasted years of draft picks after that, but it was still hanging over his head regardless.

If #77 plays the next 3-6 years w/o the Mavs adding any competent talent around him via the draft, trades and/or FA and also experiences an ownership change and about a half dozen different coaches and multiple GM’s then he can be excused some of that same criticism as well. But Mark Cuban doesn’t look to be selling any time soon and they already added the Unicorn so that’s not likely going to be the case.

It’s clear you hate the kid and have an unbelievable bias towards him. You won’t even say his name.

But will towards a rookie, hilarious.

What’s hilarious is the guy gets a 100% free pass from you, rookie or not. As long as he piles up the stats, you are more than willing to ignore defense and wins. Or that he’s not a ‘professional’ rookie as all the other members of his class are. You also ignore the fact that he had competent veteran talent around him up to the week of the all-star break.

We all get that he’s an immensely talented player. But he’s not w/o flaws. And despite his performances this season, the Mavs are in no better position in the West than they were last year. However the KINGS are and Bagley has been a big part of that. All I’m saying is that should count equally or more than all the stat stuffing. But instead we live in a world where jaw dropping individual performances get more of the attention.

Bagley big part in us being where we are lol stop it man what is he the 4th option. He’s not some huge piece where if we replaced him we’d be in the bottom. It’s not ignoring defense, how many rookies are good defenders let alone rookies having to do everything on offense.

Speaking of a player performing but the team being in no better place than last year, I present to you Lebron James.

That’s what you’d like to believe but it simply isn’t true. I was pro-Luka well before the draft and even after it. But I moved on. And have seen the rookie the KINGS did draft (who I was not high on) grow right in front of our eyes in the process.

I don’t dislike 77 at all. Just the fact that some wouldn’t and still won’t let it go at any point during the season and brought his name up ad nauseam when MB3 and other rookies didn’t get out of the gate running as fast he did. I also dislike the extreme hyperbole and overlooking of other factors besides offensive stats. I stopped using his name once it was being dropped in every other thread throughout this season and I’ll continue to do so for that reason. I just got worn out reading that 4 letter word.

For me, 77 isn’t the problem — it’s the minions that refuse to let it go and/or aren’t open to the possibility that the KINGS may have got it right in the long term.

Bringing it back to the Kings....

One potential downside to the Kings pace is our guards loosing their legs for shooting. I think we are seeing that problem with Buddy now. The coaches talked about the players being tired before the all star break, then Joeger went back to his 9 man shortened bench.

The decision to bench Beli and go with a 9 man rotation is looking increasingly bad from multiple perspectives.

Dallas is tough to play in Dallas, right?

The Mavs 2nd best player is Dwight freakin' Powell and you're sitting here acting as if Doncic, a rookie, should be leading this squad to a bunch of wins? The Mavs are in a 10x better position this year than they were last year because they have an obvious franchise talent now whereas last year they didn't with DSJ.

You have an insane bias against the kid. I had no idea there was anything wrong with a 20 year old racking up triple doubles but apparently there is. Maybe next time Doncic should just defer to Jalen Brunson who is obviously a more talented player. Maybe Justin Jackson should run the show? What are you even trying to get at? You are comparing Luka Doncic to Marvin Bagley AND the Sacramento Kings. It makes absolutely no sense.

I don't know if there's any good way to find won tips other than going through game logs one-by-one, and I ain't gonna.

So is that 39 games with lost tips this season?

Also rewatching the stretch run, the Mavs and Luka seem to think he is a better defender than he actually is. There were multiple possessions where they were perfectly content with letting him defend De'Aaron one-on-one which would be less than ideal even if Luka was a good defender at this point in his career. Are we sure Carlisle is a good coach?

Not so subtle tanking

Well, that's actually a good bit worse than 50/50. 46% in fact.

DaFox took over the game at both ends. We were just talking about leadership yesterday. Fox showed his greatest leadership yet down the stretch. Christie made mention of it in the fourth quarter. Very impressive starting with the defense. The Kings won this game by playing great defense in the 4th quarter led by Fox. They made their foul shots. Dallas might be an average team, but playing at home and raining down 3s they were tought to catch. The Kings did a great job going at the rack on a night when the shots were not falling. Fox was very impressive on offense. I do not like to talk about refs much becasue there is nothing we can do about them. Last night they just "let them play" like a high school pick up game. We had guys getting fouled twice with no call. Hard to figure out.

Ironically the defense on Doncic was crucial at the end. He played great.

Willie deserves some mention for a way above average game for him. This is what makes him some confusing and perplexing. He cruises along like is not interested in playing at all. Then every fourth game or so he plays hard with good results. I still think most of his limitations are mental.

Fox definitely showed the leadership we have been looking for. He is growing quckly into the role. I am impressed.

Maybe the answer is he has to get decapitated to get a foul call.

Buddy and Fox need to take a page out of Lukas book and start using pump fakes to get defender off balance or to draw a foul. Especially Buddy who is a top shooter in the league. Pump fake dude pump fake

I've moved on too and have stated that both teams made the right pick for them. Bagley is a great fit for the Kings and will be a great running mate for Fox in the coming years. Luka is obviously a grea building block for Dallas.

I'm also mature enough to use Luka Doncic's name and secure enough to admit he's a tremendous player. It doesn't make me less of a Kings fan to admit that Luka is great.

Everyone so touchy about Luka and giving him his proper respect. Have to preface comments with "I think a Doncic is a great player" before your say that you like Bagley more. It's ridiculous actually.

Some of the best things about being a fan are the grudges and dislikes we hold against other players and teams. Grudges about things that didn't happen to us personally. Having to kneel before the alter of Luka and pay my respects makes me bitter and not particularly fond of him. So thanks to those who gave me another team/person to root against.

The whole team minus Barnes need to take a page out of that book. No one on this team pump fakes other than Barnes. It would actually do Giles wonders when he makes his move toward the rim but doesn't quite have enough separation from the defender. Stop, pump fake and have a wide open lay in instead of a 50/50 might get blocked kind of attempt.

You don't have to kneel before the alter...it's just the lengths people to through to put players down is absurd. It's like saying Harden sucks because his defense isn't very good or Giannis sucks because he can't shoot the 3 ball consistently. Here it's Luka sucks because he can't lead a team of nobodies to the playoffs or he sucks because his shooting percentages aren't as good as Hield's or whatever the excuse may be. It's just the absurdity of it all. It doesn't really matter who the player is. Look at how the Dallas fans jumped all over their own announcer for saying he'd much rather have Dwight Powell over Marvin Bagley. When people say ridiculous things then they shouldn't be surprised when people respond to it with disagreement.
