Kings, Mavericks Interested In Trading Down

#92
I wouldn't be surprised if Doncic goes #1 that the kings would trade down for porter jr
I wouldn't either. I just hope in this case Vlade at least realizes he has the leverage. Don't trade down and accept a questionable to bad offer just because whatever I wanted Porter anyway. Make teams work and try and get them to bid against each other. There's obviously a lot of interest from teams trying to move up in this draft. At least walk away with something good.

Is Doncic 100% guaranteed to come over if drafted? Haven't heard anything about that side of his story.

MPJ and his agent are making extremely suspicious moves with medical records and cancelled workouts. Too risky.

Bamba looks sick, but what would we do with WCS?

No to any SG or PG. Fox, Buddy, Bogs, and Mason year 2 we gotta see that in action before giving up on it. Plus Shump/Temple as the vet 3 and D players is solid.

Harry Giles makes me pass on Bagley

I don't think anyone is worried about him not coming to the NBA. It was discussed at the end of the Euro championship and it seemed pretty clear he wants to take the next step in his career. If he wasn't willing to come over, he would have withdrawn from the draft IMHO.

I do wonder about this. I know some think they could play together, but in today’s nba it doesn’t feel like the wisest strategy to build up from the C/PF positions. If they take Bagley does that imply they aren’t as high on Giles than the hype would suggest? It still feels like Doncic makes too much sense unless they have major concerns over his game translating to the NBA.

#2 (+36 ?) for J. Isaac (ORL) & 6 (ORL)-

draft Mikal Bridges @ 6.. Imagine the defensive potential.. Fox/Bogi/Mikal/Isaac/Giles.......

Bridges will be the steal of this draft.

"Parsons is owed $49.2 million over the next two seasons to complete the four-year deal he signed in 2016."
Forgot how stupid that FA year was.
I like that NBA owners keep trying to put restrictions in place (salary cap, luxury tax, max contracts etc) to save them from their own stupidity but keep failing.

"4 years/$94 million for Chandler Parsons? Where do I sign?"

Do you guys think:

4th pick/Parsons

For

WCS/Skal/Jackson/2021 1st (protected)

Would be fair? It looks to me that Memphis wants to extend the Conley/Gasol run a little longer. WCS can contribute immediately, Skal and Jackson can develop into role players. They also get a future first for eventual rebuild.

We take on Parsons contract because we aren’t contending anytime soon, while gaining another top pick.

Maybe I’m too biased and this is very unbalanced, in our favor?

I was thinking of a heavy protection, similar to how we had with Chicago. One where we don’t give up the pick until we are a decent team.
That pick protection was a nightmare! Ultimately it cost us a second rounder that we basically got back in the Cousins trade but for years we couldn't trade a first because of it. Thankfully it never conveyed prior to the year it was due because if it had we'd have lost the #2 to Philly!

This is a completely baseless guess...

The Kings have an agreement to trade with either Memphis or Dallas for their pick without giving up their own #2.

The Kings select Bagley with the 2nd pick.

Knowing Donic would go next to the Hawks, the Kings are looking hard at MPJ since the team needs a player like him but would take Doncic if he is available.

Oh hell no.

Wcs for 4 and parsons. They are trying to unload parsons contract. The cost to unload is on memphis.

If the Kings were to somehow get the #2 and #4, I think you would need to go wing first, in Doncic and then take whichever bigman is left at #4 (Bagley, JJJ, Bamba).

There is a surplus of high upside bigs (Bagley, JJJ, Bamba) in the early Lottery, not so much of a (healthy) wing surplus.

? Love is 31. Still owed 25 mil for this season.
How is that more attractive?
Love is still much better than any free agent Memphis will attract. Actually does make a fair amount of sense. Grizzlies make one final go with Conley, Gasol and Love, then add a a nice piece for the future at 7 (one of Porter, Bamba, Young, Carter, Bridges, etc.)

well vivek has been chasing the next steph curry for years. i imagine young excites him. give up fox to have Bagley/Porter/Doncic and young

young/mason
Bogdan/heild
Porter/jj
giles/skal
Wcs/kosta

Hey I agree with you! OMG.. Yah, I think they are looking at Trae Young as well. The whole Steph Curry thing intrigues Vlade IMO. The guy can shoot, pass and handle the ball. Weak on D, but so is Curry (and Harden if we include him as a "Curry" type player). Get your on the ball guy and fill in the rest with good shooters like Klay, Green ect ect. Kings have Buddy, and Bogdan. We could have something here, and we could get another asset if we moved down to get Trae.

We could give away Fox and our pick and get back a 5-9 (two picks between 5 and 9) and get Porter and Young, and maybe a Veteran player along with it. Barnes? We were looking at guys like Porter as our pick and that's it.

I know I am a Trae Young homer, but the guy is amazing, and he's a leader. He has no qualms with shooting the ball 20 times a game. That's the kind of player I want. He knows he's good and he plays to it. I am kind of tired getting these shy guys who defer to the older players. Remember when Curry came into the league and Ellis hated him because he was stealing Ellis's thunder? What happened to Ellis? :) Trae is my guy...

You see how Love plays right? Guys like Love can play into their late 30s and still be just as effective as ever. If he still had that college weight on then I would wonder, but the guy is in great shape and he does not punish his body like the overly athletic guys do.
