Same path as John Wall. Doesn't need to be a great shooter, just decent.I love Fox but I freely acknowledge that he has a very narrow path to stardom that is predicated on him becoming a good outside shooter in very short order.

Yeah Wall has some strength on fox but aside from that there's a ton of similarities. I think fox is going to be more like John Wall than Elf when it's all said and done.John Wall is bigger which helped him in terms of defense and attacking the basket and he's a better playmaker. But yes, Fox could turn into John Wall-lite. That's not a bad outcome. Fox's rookie stats were also just a tick below Westbrook's. I think so much depends on improvements to his shot and increases in strength.
But I also think part of it is situational. I don't think Joerger's offense plays to Fox's strengths. I sure hope that changes next year but my fear is that he's not being put in the best position to succeed.
This. Theres gonna be a bunch of nice wings available in next years draft, kings can use oneGreat draft to trade down in and get that #1 back next year

Question to the experts on the board: If you make a trade back deal can you make it contingent upon the trading partner taking a specific player? Or can the trading partner just say they are going to take X player and then end up bamboozling you by taking Y?
Trading back to #5 seems like a long way down. Going one or two slots down not so much.

my worst fears realized.
we finally have a top pick with prospects you cant miss on and we are looking to trade down.
#facepalm
well vivek has been chasing the next steph curry for years. i imagine young excites him. give up fox to have Bagley/Porter/Doncic and youngJohn Wall is bigger which helped him in terms of defense and attacking the basket and he's a better playmaker. It's the lure of the unknown. We've now seen Fox's warts and know what he needs to work on to be successful. All those other guys....unknown superstars....Fox would in return turn into a stud and then laugh in the Kings face, this is asinine thinking in my opinion. What's with the Kings' fanbase and their willingness to trade players as soon as they draft them? I don't understand.
I'll post the article in it's own thread, but The Ringer released a piece on whether the Kings would get this draft right with a bunch of different scenarios.
One of them was trading Fox to Orlando for #6. If the Magic went for that I'd strongly consider it depending on who is on the board at six.
As long as the pick isn't Doncic at #2, I would do Fox for Young. I see him as a potential franchise playerI'll post the article in it's own thread, but The Ringer released a piece on whether the Kings would get this draft right with a bunch of different scenarios.

I don't think the FO will trade Fox. However, just from guessing, here's the scenarios:Who are we hoping to draft 6 in that scenario? Doncic at 2 and a SF (MPJ) at 6? Or Bagley at 2 and Young at 6? I'm trying to see the vision...

I don't think the FO will trade Fox. However, just from guessing, here's the scenarios:
1. Kings draft Doncic at #2, absolutely love him and also see him more of a LEGITIMATE pg. He'll take over the PG duties which makes Fox expendable. Kings would use #6 on Mikal Bridges who would theoretically guard PGs allowing Doncic to stick on SFs. Mikal would be a great fit with Doncic, Bogdan, and Buddy.
2. Kings love Young and see him as a franchise player. We draft him at #6, and use the #2 pick on an elite big man in Ayton, Bagley, or Jackson Jr.
Young is a very very very talented PG. He was an elite scorer in college, and many hope to see him do that in the NBA.
