Kings cut Garrity

Kings new roster:
C: Brad Miller, Mikki Moore, Spencer Hawes
PF: Kenny Thomas, SAR, Justin Williams
SF: Ron Artest, Francisco Garcia
SG: Kevin Martin, John Salmons, Keith Bogans
PG: Jameer Nelson, Carlos Arroyo, Quincy Douby, Mustafa Shakur

Magic continue their quest to surround Howard with shooters to ease his offensive game in the paint. Bibby gives the Magic an upgrade at PG with a contract that's not long term to test out the experiment. The Magic become contenders in the East with Lewis/Howard/Bibby as their main core.

the Kings move Bibby's deal into smaller pieces that mostly expire. Nelson becomes the heir apparant to Bibby at PG. Fran Vazquez could potentially be the piece at the 4 the Kings need.
Future Kings core:

C: Hawes
PF: Williams/Vazquez
SF: Garcia
SG: Martin/Salmons
PG: Nelson/Douby

Wow, Arroyo looked great in the PR game against the US today. We have to try to get this guy. He isn't getting the playing time he deserves throughout his career and with Bibby looking to be on his way out, I'd love to see him here.

The Magic may like to get Bibby, but that trade leaves them without a backup for Tony Battie, and J.J. Redick would be the only SG on the team. Ouch.

Well, before the Foyle signing I was thinking Brad for those enders, but yeah, guess Bibby is still an outside outside shot at them.

The concerns would be that Bibby himself may or may not be an ender do to his option -- that may or may not is a nasty little factor artificially holding down his trade value. But if he is, then dumping him for enders isn't helping, and so its about what you get back. And there...eh...think the problem is that I so completely have no use for Flake Boy that its hard to valuate his rights. He's a weenie, and I don't have a feel for the talent to go with the wimp. On the other hand I like Nelson somewhat more than some people, without being convinced he's actually a high level starter. If Flake Boy could play or was worth something, then he and Nelson would be the core of the deal, and it might be worth it. Just...dunno though.

None of the players involved are Battie's backup. That should be Aodnal Foyle now that they signed him. Likely Howard/Battie/Foyle rotation, with Hedo maybe swinging up occasionally.

They would also still have Reddick, as well as Dooling, who swings to OG all the time, and Ariza, Rashard and Hedo, all of whom can swing to OG from the SF spot.

Im not really sure how this all works, but is there anyway we can "cut" Kenny Thomas? i think it hurts our cap if we do something like this but i wasnt sure. Sounds like a good idea to "cut" Thomas if we could. Explanation please.....

Forget backup shooting guard, who would be the Magic's backup point guard in this deal?

Dooling again.

Magic:

C- Battie
PF- Howard
SF- Lewis
OG- Reddick
PG- Bibby

6th -- SF/PF/OG - Hedo
7th -- PG/OG - Dooling
8th -- PF/C - Foyle
9th -- SF/OG- Ariza

Given that that backcourt couldn't stop ANYONE, no matter how well it shoots, I would think maybe starting Ariza or Dooling would be better than Reddick, but however it worked they'd have a complete rotation.

i really dont care for nelson... wouldnt mind trading reef or salmons and douby for arroyo and reddick... then we dont have to keep shakur and we free up minutes for garcia....

lets get this done...

The Magic has a strange fasination with Franz Vazquez. They picked him about 15 spots too high and they still think he will end up a better player than David Lee, Granger, Gerald Green, etc. They may be right, they may be wrong, but there's no way they're trading him away for Mike Bibby.

They could sub in a future first then.
