If we pick another combo guard I think I'll kick myself in the face, ugh.

Hearing Damian Lillard crushed in Sacramento, and while they need another guard like a hole in the head, they are strongly considering him.
Scoring combo guard, check.
Four year player at a small school, check.
Telegraphed to everyone within shouting distance a week before the draft, check.
WTF are they thinking factor, off the charts.
So this is basically a lock then right?
And I get ALL my inside scoops from HoopsWorld.com. lol I doubt we pick Lillard unless there's a Tyreke trade.
I like Lillard and think he will be a good player, but if we take him there better be a trade in the works for a shotblocking big and/or a defensive SF. You simply can't take another guard and not move one. I think this is all smoke and mirrors, although it did look like he had a very good workout with us. Still, I'd be surprised if GP ignores the roster and takes him.
hmm... Barnes worked out for Toronto who has the 8th pick but he won't work out for us. Here comes a trade with them... Raps under performing over paid vet and 8 (Lillard) for 5 (Barnes)?
I'd prefer Barnes or MKG thank you.
Well, say the dangle Ed Davis with 8. Grabbing a young defensive minded big like him who can rebound and grabbing Lillard would be a pretty nice haul from this draft. Plus, we'd have one of Reke/Thornton/IT to dangle in a trade for a SF or another big.
It's not my favorite solution, but if we love Lillard, i'd much rather try and get another asset out of it

Yep. If there's any validity to this, it means they're shopping Reke or Thornton or IT. Which is intriguing to me if we are considering moving one of those guys in a deal for a Deng, Noah, Josh Smith type of player or perhaps for another high draft pick
100% disagree. Right now we have 1 repeat 1 player who is a PG. That being IT. The person who will lose the minutes is Jimmer. If you run Lillard at PG, IT backing up, Evans at SG with MT backup. Either way this team needs another PG in current form unless Jimmer somehow is able to bring the ball up now.

4 guards in a rotation is too much as you are never going to have enough minutes to give to each of them. That is why you generally run with a 3 guard rotation and a 4th guard with bare minimum. IT and Lillard are both better than just playing scrap minutes.
If we draft Lillard, one of the main guys will need to be moved. Its pretty simple match. If you have have Lillard, IT, Reke and MT, neither of these guys will be happy with less than 30mpg and that is not even mentioning how their skills do no complement each other very well.
Nope. 3 guards may get the majority of minutes, but you need at least 4 in the rotation. Injuries, foul trouble, off nights etc means you cant rely on just 3. And now with rosters increasing from 12 to 13 you have an extra slot over the past too. Most teams carry at min 5 guards on the team.
So how exactly would you spread the minutes for the 4 guys you think we would be OK with? As I said, neither of them will be happy with anything less than 30mpg
Yes and we know how Geoff Petrie gives away everything ahead of time. Blabbermouth. And I get ALL my inside scoops from HoopsWorld.com. lol I doubt we pick Lillard unless there's a Tyreke trade.
Thank God you're not an nba coach. Whoever has it going will get minutes rofl!Like I said, foul trouble and other factors will determine alot of it. But whoever has it going that night would get the minutes. Most likely IT and Lillard would split the PG. Evans and MT the SG with Evans playing some at SF depending on the matchup.

Great way to build a team and consistency, isn't it?!
Sometime I can't help but shake my head as some if the things I read on here!
Guess you don't like the way Pop coaches then.
I haven't seen him play, just saw him in the workouts. NBA scouts sure like him. Hard to know what's real on this. Before Tyreke got drafted there were several leaks that indicated the Kings were high on him. It wasn't a secret at the very end. That said, then was then and now is now.
As for whether a player is going to fit or not, I just don't care, and I don't think the Kings management cares much either. If they out there talking trades there could be a lot of player movement on this team and the "fit" that everybody talks about could easily be a moot point because of future trades. All I can say, is: If they draft a player that is at an overloaded position, pretty please with sugar on top trade the reduntant player(s) at his position before or on Draft Day. The last thing I want them to do is draft a guy at an overloaded position and then have to figure out what to do afterwards. Then their leverage goes down considerably with potential trading partners.
