Hall of Famer
Since we play Lakers and it might be the last Mike’s game against Lakers @ STAPLES in Kings uniform – I could care less what happened on April 1st in the past years. I will go straight to May 28th 2002 – and if You don’t know where I am going – no one can help You. I am sure that 99% of You remember where You were and how You felt at the moment when Mike Bibby made ARCO explode. Obviously it was the game 5 of the 2002 WCF which Kings won 92-91 to take the 3-2 lead in the series. With 8.2 seconds to go – Bibby took advantage of Webber’s leveling of Fisher to drain the 18ft jumper for the win. I have seen that game many, many times and every time I watch that shot go in and the following the reaction of the crowd – I get the goose bumps. Webber lead Kings with 29/13/3, Bibby had 23/4/2/3, Vlade had 13/7/2, Hedo had 13/2/3. Bench combined for only 6 points. It wasn’t a pretty game to watch and we didn’t even play well but it was as exciting as it can ever get.

The biggest shot of Mike’s Bibby career has the Sacramento Kings one win from the NBA Finals. Bibby's 18-footer with 8.2 seconds left gave the Kings an emotional 92-91 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers and a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference finals .Kobe Bryant missed a last-second jumper for the Lakers, the two-time defending NBA champions who are on the verge of elimination. Their first chance to stay alive is Friday at Los Angeles.

"That was specially designed to get the ball into Mike's hands because he is such a great decision-maker and he very rarely makes a bad decision out of bounds," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "We just wanted him to hit Webb and come off and see what's there. We were going to have shooters out on the floor and let him make the decision."

"I figured that they would switch, but Chris set a good pick," Bibby said.

"Coach drew it up and I told Chris that if he hands the ball off to me, I was going to make it and he said that he was going to hand it off to me, so my confidence was high and I shot it with confidence," Bibby said.

"I've never been to this level before, but coach has," Webber said. "Coach Adelman told us after the game to be focused and to take this opportunity to take every chance that you can to close out this series. We feel good but regardless of how we feel, we have to be ready for Friday night."

We don't own Clippers anymore and with that our PO "hopes" have been taken care off. With this loss Kings dropped to 30-41 for the season which is 4.5 games behind + the tiebreaker behind the last PO spot. Kings currently have the 9th worst record but there is still chance to improve that and it shouldn't be a problem considering the way that we have been playing lately. 11 more games to go and it can't happen soon enough
------------------------------------------------------------------------
March is over and Kings went 5-9 which is neither good nor bad enough. Most of the performances were poor with 2 exceptions in LA and at home vs Suns. In April - Kings will play 11 games in 18 days and a 2-9 record would be perfect. 6 at home and 5 on the road. Kings obviously won't make the post season but they can play the spoiler to other teams that still have some hopes. For example - by losing to the Clippers - Kings made it harder on other teams too. Grizzlies are the only team Kings will face in April that have the worse record than the Kings. It will be a rough ride and we can hope to a great start and a happy ending.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Who would have thought that as off this moment we have easier time handling Lakers than the Clippers. We ised to own the Clippers. In one season Kings have managed to "ruin" everything and I mean everything that we have build over the glory years. Obviously we suck but this has gone too far.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looks like Kings player are finally catching up with reality in terms of their chances to make the 9th consecutive PO appearance. Since Pacers will snap their streak - it only leaves the Spurs with a long streak. It was fun while it lasted. That is why I don't understand why Brad Miller came back to play despite the foot problems. We should make a commitment to play the kids the last 11 games. Won't happen because in Muss mind - winning 5 more games will make him lood of Hak better and it would make a difference. But then again - in Muss mind a powerpoint presentation is the most important part of coaching.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
How pathetic is the fact that we even make Jason Hart look like an all star. He was by far the best PG on the floor. He owned that old and slow guys that currently plays a PG for the Kings. But then again - who doesn't ? Did we make a mistake but getting rid of Hart ? Not really - because he is still Jason Hart and he still sucks and he will never be a meaningful player on a good team. It isn't even about Hart - it is more about how bad we have gotten to actually "allow it to happen". Just pull the plug already !

April fools day – when I was younger – I used to hate those pranks and “lies” that have been told but as the time went on – things kinda got funny in a weird and bizarre way. This time I thought of some April fools newspaper headlines that I wish – were actually true.

“Lakers relocated to North Dakota”

“Kenny Thomas traded for a bag of dog food” and in related story “Ron’s dogs finally fed”

“Lakers hire coach Musselman”

“Dick Bavetta retires”

“Mo Taylor leads Lakers in scoring”

“Marc Cuban finally got a ring – in his nose”

“NBA bans the gold uniforms”

“Bill Walton suspended from broadcasting due to pointless irrelevance”

“Bavetta beat Barkley in the 10 years anniversary of their first race”

“SAR made back to back PO appearances”

“O’Niel lead the league in FT shooting”

‘Kings finally got the new arena”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since I really don't feel like wasting too many thoughts on the remainder of this season - here is a riddle for You. Shouldn't be hard.

Coach's corner is sponsored by Sophocles, Shakespeare and Pedro Calderón de la Barca. Muss moved up the kool aid time and put it before the game started probably just to break the monotony and create some variety. Obviously, he didn't think that Jason Hart could cause any difficulties. Alos he yet again played the starters too many minutes getting inadequate production in general. All in all - vintage Muss.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Luckly, the BSPN decided to pull the Clippers game off the air and put the Rockets game on. Other people shouldn't suffer trough this garbage. We had a bad start and not enough strength to make the early defficit up. We got outshot, outrebounded and yet again didn't manage one single block. 3 players contributing won't win You many games. We also attempted 24 threes hitting only 7 of them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

TDM went to Jason Hart as I and probably anyone else predicted. This might even be a career game for Hart who just owned Bibby big time.

LW-VC award - Bibby for sucking on both ends

JH-KT award went to SAR, Salmons and KT. Pathetic
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lakers are next and at least the motivation shouldn't be a problem here but You never know with this group of YMCA players. What we have going for us this time is that this game is "meaningless" for us but it does mean a lot to the Lakers. That is a perfect situation for Kings to win it just like we did it vs Suns. Also Bibby had a bad game and he is a Laker killer. Lakers have Kobe. That makes it pretty even but then we have Muss so ...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - do it again like so many times
Kevin - time for a monster game
Ron - watch the elbows
SAR - useless
Brad - get healthy first !
------------------------------------------------------------------------
rest - maeten
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mus - kool aid flavor of the night - botox
----------------------------------------------------------------
Lakers suck and always will. Kobe will get "his" where "his" could be anything between 30-60. They have bunch of tall people that we can't guard. Bynam will win the TDM. Luke Walton will win LW-VC award. Kings win.

Okay, I know that's really wrong and I should chastise you severely, but I can't stop laughing...

It's been that kind of year.

Thanks, piksi...

:)

Classic Piksi!! Hey, this is our playoffs...I'll get up for ANY game against the LA Kobe's, no matter how bad we are! Been that way for 22 years now! Oh, and I too get chills when I watch the Bibby shot over, and over, and over, and over! I dont think there's been an arena in the history of arenas that was as loud as we were when Bibby hit that shot. You couldnt even hear Marv Albert screaming 'YES!!' Man, I was in tears when he hit that...I tore off my shirt and ran down K St. with plenty of other Kings fans doing the same, strangers hugging strangers...it was a beautiful thing. Will I ever get that feeling again?? I hope so.:)

Kobe probably scores in the area of 58.

Hopefully it takes him 47 shots and the rest of his teammates fail to outscore him, and we can eek out the win.

Another great intro Piksi. Remembering Bibby's shot in that game and how I felt? Goose bumps, tears of joy and losing my voice. I want to feel that again with my team. That and more.

I honestly don't think there's going to be much of a troll problem BUT, if there is, please use the "refer a post" option to let me know. It's the exclamation point in the red triangle.

Thanks all! Keep your eyes out for some of our great Kingsfans.com people during HousePartyLive!!!

:D

Hmm... I wonder if Sasha bought a round-trip ticket for that travel... How about Justin Williams so we don't get murdered by KWAME BROWN...

alright. justin williams time please. before kwame winds up looking like he should have been drafted where he was.

Does Musselman constantly screaming from the sidelines like some drunken soccer dad bother anyone else???

I like the Zen Master... He just...Sits there... Except sometimes you can clearly see he is spacing out and it's pretty funny... Like if another team goes on a huge run they will cut to Phil Jackson for some sort of reaction, and he'll just be staring into space with his mouth wide open. Quite comical...

Tied after first and Kobe didn't score. Is that good or bad ?

Kwarme on pace for 40 which he obviously won't get but 30 is very possible
