When LeBron goes they'll have to rebuild for sure. Wonder if they find themselves in a Knicks situation where the luster of the Lakers dream has worn off, or they just bounce right on the next train to contention when stars beg to go there?

HB is garbage. He is undersize and his defense is pathetic. It seems like everyone is playing well and he's out there killing the Kings' momentum. This is EXACTLY the reason why I wish the Kings trade or sign a bigger lengthy player that can play D and shoot (someone like Naz Reid) during the summer. Barnes' limitation can really hurt the Kings. Imagine if the Kings have a bigger taller lengthy player that can at least play better defense and alter shot and also play help team defense. Not only that, imagine a player that can also pass...Barnes isn't great at passing also. But the main thing is he is undersize and lack physicality. Jesus, can you at least jump up and block and do something instead of getting back down and not fighting back? His defense is soft imo. He doesn't do the extra to help the team. His main contribution is his attack and driving drawing fouls...other area of his game is just average at best.

+/- is a dumb stat. HB looking good in it tonight is example #100000 of proving it.
Watch the game. He absolutely had a few big plays tonight and a few big shots, but he was unplayable on defense. LeBron attacked him all game long...and dominated. And the Lakers 4th quarter run was basically fueled by attacking HB.
The defense is a problem. 4 FTA in the last 5 games is a major problem. We need HB to be more than a spot-up 3pt shooter and that's basically all he's excelled in so far this season.

Sabonis dominated Davis from the opening tip, which gave his team tremendous confidence. I loved the steals of Murray and Barnes down the stretch. Huerter was fantastic in this game on offense and his defense was good.
I listened to Brown's presser and I thought that this guy is perfect for this team. He sees the tremendous potential they have and he sees their current shortcomings and where they need to improve. I think he was annoyed that the Kings, especially Fox, took the boot off the neck of the Lakers in this game (Bibby said they went asleep), but he also recognizes that the cousin of cocky greatness is sloppy complacency and that with his guidance and their maturity this team has a real chance to get to the top.

Kings won 48 games last season and they probably only won a few games in the fashion they have already won a few games this season. Building a lead, controlling the lead, answering runs.
Last season the Kings couldn’t build big separation regardless of opponents..and if they did, it was short lived. This season they already have wire to wire wins over the Jazz, Thunder, and Lakers where they nursed a healthy lead throughout. The Cleveland game was almost Wire to wire, Cleveland briefly had a one point lead in the first quarter but the Kings were in firm control throughout.
It comes down to defense. If the Kings have last years offense(which they do with a healthy Fox) and a middle of the pack defense. They are on their way to the elite.
Domas was dominant tonight .I want that aggression every night. 19 shots, pushing the ball, owning the glass, and he has been good defensively this season..and hasn’t been dealing with too much foul trouble. He’s been amazing since that Houston debacle.
Fox was also dominant. You can tell his legs were sort of out of gas at the end. The two weeks off the floor showing but he buried the Lakers big run at the end of the first half.
Huerter shooting great again but also showing his full game. His mid range and playmaking ability are underutilized facets of his game and we’ve seen a lot of it during this win streak.
Keegan off night offensively but he seems to be balancing his role as a defensive stalwart with being a top option offensively as well. The shots fell in the Thunder and Cavs games..not tonight, but high impact performance regardless.
HB contributed what we need offensively and 4 steals. Good game.
The bench was off tonight. They have been consistent but not a strong showing.
Monk ice cold and turning it over. Not his night, but his first couple minutes were very good in helping push the lead to 20.
Keon couldn’t seem to get in the flow tonight.
Hopefully he can start sinking those wide open threes he’s getting.
Javale had a solid showing. Probably the best off the bench tonight.
Duarte was fine in he made a couple shots and problems didn’t seem to pile on. It looked like it would when his first action included him being called for a phantom foul on LeBron.
Sasha missed his open threes but I’m still pleased that he’s not nearly as terrible defensively as we feared. He holds his own and gets his hands in the ball. 2 steals.
This road trip is murder. This was a big win. Gotta take care of business in San Antonio. Got two of the hotter teams in the league in Minny and Dallas, and also New Orleans.

I’ve been suspecting all along that our collective woes were the result of conditioning to what Coach is demanding. Not surprised that HB is feeling it more and taking longer to get there than his younger teammates. With his professionalism and work ethic, Harrison will be okay.

Literally go read 90% of my game thread posts being hyped about Kings plays. Wtf are you talking about? And this is rich coming from you as part of the contingent ready to trade Huerter for a bag of chips 2 weeks ago.
And just in general, I feel I'm an incredibly positive Kings fan. I like providing my takes about pretty much everything, but I'd like to think I'm mostly leaning positive a majority of the time.
AND THIS POST ISN'T EVEN NEGATIVE. It's 33% negative, talking about the problem's I think we had with HB. And Keegs and Huerter being awesome.

I was admittedly piased with the Rockets series for sure. And I still think an OG for Huerter and Davion makes the Kings better.

And I talked about problems with HB. As I do with every game, I analyze what I saw and share it with thread. I don't owe anyone on this forum a full form breakdown of every player's strengths and weaknesses for each individual game. Those 3 were just on my mind when I made that post. What the hell is wrong with that? 90% of my posts are more or less "OMG KEEGAN DESTROYED REAVES LFG!" while the game is going on. I went into the Domas thread and called him a superstar and I'm not even shocked by this performance anymore. Wtf more do you want from me?

LeBron Cooks a lot of people. And HB is probably our weakest starter. I just don't see the problem when we are winning AND improving.

I think we all remember where we were on that shot! I was filming my English group project assignment (we did a spoof of The Weakest Link game show for our book report…lol) and we were all glued to the TV!
Not a Sacramento household missed a game back in those days! I have fond memories of the “Love Them Kings” banner on the Ziggurat from that time period. it was the previous version of the beam…sorta!

I wasn't able to watch the game, but dominating LA on their home court is about as fun as NBA basketball gets so I'm sad I missed it. Keegan emerging as a defensive stopper solves a lot of problems for us. If he's able to defend forwards and guards maybe we can revisit the idea of pairing Domas with more of a paint protector at the other forward spot?
I also think we've seen already in just a few weeks that it's not fair to make snap judgements about players after/during a bad game. Monk, Huerter, and Keegan all started the season cold but have won games for us recently. Davion hit some big shots in the second GS game and the OT win against Portland but has mostly struggled trying to fill in for De'Aaron and now finds himself in the doghouse. HB played almost a perfect game in the season opener but he's faded while the other starters have found their groove. It's a long season though. All of our rotation guys are going to have their chances to shine.
As long as the team continues to commit to defense, we'll be in good shape as most of our competition in the West has looked shaky. I think we'll find ourselves in one of the top 4 seeds again this season and as one of the few teams in the conference which hasn't already traded all of our tradeable future picks, there's a chance we'll be able to make a significant move at the trade deadline.

The dude has played for 21 seasons. Why so many act so shocked when somebody that plays that long starts setting or breaking records escapes me.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar also played similarly as long (20 seasons) and left the NBA as the all-time leading scorer and leader in many other categories too. But he wouldn’t have had Wilt Chamberlain played 20 seasons instead of 14.
And LBJ wouldn’t be the all-time leader, either, if numerous other players had decided to hang around and play as long, namely Michael Jeffrey Jordan -- who retired for the bulk of 2 seasons during the prime of his career then retired again for a few years before attempting a comeback. Had MJ never retired and just played continuously through the early 2000’s — he’d probably have one more title (1998-1999) and would almost assuredly be the leagues all-time leader.
Now, before anybody tries to pull the “those guys weren’t able to play to the same level for as long as LBJ“ card, I’ll counter with the ruleset being much different (and more physical) before 2003, 2004ish. That’s when “hand-checking” was eliminated and other rules began emerging to foster more scoring. Not only that, LBJ never had to deal with “Jordan Rules” getting pummeled and knocked to the floor most every time he stepped floor in the paint. If he had, he’d be far more worn down and injured at this stage of his career.
The likes of Bird, Magic, MJ, Wilt, etc, would have been capable of playing longer and at a very high level if they played under the current rule set and state of today’s game. Same goes for the old guard of NFL players, such as Joe Montana and Dan Marino.
Regardless of and despite the difference in eras, MJ and Wilt would have set the scoring marks much higher had they played longer. Wilt surely could have played longer had he wanted to, as the dude was still showing up to open gyms and killing NBA players up to his late 40’s, early 50’s. Just ask Magic Johnson.
Circling back to the point, I sure hope James is doing things nobody else has done considering how long he’s played. That’s a testament to his talent and longevity. Great for him. But it in no way marks him as the greatest player of all time, despite what the younger generation naively believes.
He’s not even in my top 10. Not including players I never saw play live, such as Wilt, Walton, West, and Russell, I’d take MJ, Magic, Bird, Kareem, Kobe, Shaq, Duncan, Wade, Steph, and Olajuwon over him without hesitation.
KD, KG, Dirk, Barkley, Dr. J, Stockton, and Malone are close, but they didn’t win quite enough to overtake LBJ imo. But several of them were definitely much more clutch and unflappable when the going got toughest.
I’ve long been critical of the traveling Jokic, but if that dude leads Denver to another couple titles — I’ll be persuaded to take him over LBJ too. Same goes for Giannis. They both got some work to do. But they could get there rather easily, I believe.
