Kings @ Knicks Game Thread

I liked what I saw tonight and part of it was because there was no Ron Artest out there trying to do it all. I truly believe life after Ron Artest will be a lot more productive, entertaining and fun for the Sacramento Kings - and for us, the fans.

you think so even when Kmart and Bibby come back?

man brad gets pushed in the back everytime he tries to go up for a rebound

This is part of being a rebounder though -- you have to have the strength/toughness to stand in there. That's only going to be sporadically called and there is that kind of contact on nearly every board.

Easy to say after a game like this but we are not going to be playing the Knicks every night. We are now something like 3-9 without Artest. Let's see if they continue to play like this gainst Cleveland and Chicago.

Off topic, why wouldn't Lee and Balkman play more for NY? They hustle, scrap, are athletic...............

I dunno, if we were doing a trade with NY, the #1 guy on my wish list would be Lee.

Sometimes, when aging guards are coaching, they make hustling, scrapping, athletic young bigs ride the pine a lot. I don't know why.

Sorry, but it's not about winning or losing. It's about playing like a team or - much as like what used to happen with Webber - having good players take subordinate roles and watch while someone (in this instance Artest) pretty much takes over and dominates the game, often without winning the game.

I saw teamwork and I saw trust. Players passed the ball to each other MUCH more than they do when Artest is on the court. You can disagree with my conclusion but I still maintain that seeing the teamwork on the court tonight was indicative of what the remaining group of players could work on and improve without the disruption that is Ron Artest.

He should be getting 35 minutes a night on that team....Balkman also seems like he should be getting PT. With all the shooters on that team, those guys can run the floor, hustle, rebound, scrap, inject life into the team.... It looks like Balkman's minutes have gone to Wilson Chandler. So they have guys who can run( Lee, Balkman, Robinson, Crawford, Marbury, etc) and guys that can't (Curry, Randolph). It's a mess.

I'm just saying let's see after every game, if you feel the same. On the homestand just completed, it wasn't pretty to watch. The fact of the matter is that Artest does play team ball most of the time. I'll agree that there are times when he does try to do too much but for the most part I don't agree with it. Udrih tries to do too much at times, so does Salmons and Cisco.

But after seeing Lee and Balkman play....I wouldn't mind having those guys if a deal was to be made. They do play hard.
