Kings/Jazz

Doubt the Jazz would even consider that, but I would at least think about it. We could get the best big or SF with our pick and get Marshall with the GS pick. Don't really think Tyreke would work in their system. Not sure if the marketing aspect of Jimmer would be enough.

Just curious, if we were to make such a deal, which I'm sure Utah would pass on, why then would you even consider drafting another SF since your getting Hayward, a SF, and Burks, a SF, in the trade. Another Big I can understand. Not going to happen anytime soon.

I would imagine that those two (only 1 of which I see as a true SF) would be part of another deal, given we have about 5 guys that can (somewhat) play that position. I see Hayward as a possible contributing starter in the future, but I think Burkes has 6th or 7th man in his futureas a SG. Perhaps packaging them up (or other pieces) for a sign-and-trade to MIL for Ilyasova.

Also, I think with our pick, you take the BPA, and since there will be a lot of Bigs and SF's near the top of the draft, that is the likely route.

You people are desperate to have change in this team considering you are willing to let go of Evans who clearly is better than any of the players you may get in this proposed trade. Evans is not the problem.

Evans is NOT the problem. This team would have been better with or without Evans if the team had acquired some free agents last summer. They didn't. Most successful teams are over the salary cap, not the luxury cap, and we are barely over the minimum. This is not to say that spending guarantees success but I think it is safe to say that if the Maloofs do NOT spend money, we will go nowhere. The fact that they have already extended Smart's contract, a coach without a proven record of anything, gives a hint. Tune in at the end of next summer to see if the season following will be as putrid as this one.

We are indeed bottom feeders and if only by luck, we should have improved yet haven't. It's not because of Tyreke's jump shot. I understand that it is easier to blame one person for this team's lack of accomplishment, but the more complex answer lies at a higher pay grade. For those who don't pay attention to such things, the Maloofs have shown no interest in investing in their team. They are now throwing a fit over $200,000 so imagine how they feel about signing a high grade free agent.

Glenn while I agree that the Maloofs and their lack of spending is a majority of the problem, I do not think we need change for the sake of change.

Personnel wise, I think three key things will improve this team greatly.

A defensive SF with passable 3pt. range.
A full-size (6' 9" or taller) defensive PF, who won't necessarly be looking for his offence much. But with decent range out to 15 feet, to clear space for Cousins.
A true PG to distribute.

If we can accomplish this and keep Evans (preferably at the SG, ala Doug Christie) I am all for it. He is a special tallent, but tends to pound the ball into the ground or look too much for his own offence at the PG. I think we have a solid bench if we get those additional pieces. Example:

Starters
PG - K. Marshall
SG - T. Evans
SF - MKG or Batum or Kirelinko or J. Dudley
PF - E. Ilyasova
C - DMC

Bench (unless any of these guys are traded to acquired starters*)
I. Thomas*
M. Thorton*
F. Garcia*
J. Thompson
C. Hayes*
Jimmer*
Honeycutt*
Whiteside

And again, please amnesty Salmons!!

Even with Reke's faults, he is still one of the top 10 players drafted in the last 3 years. You don't trade that talent for mediocre SFs and a high lottery pick.

Though I really like Hayward and would do a swap of one of any of our guards not named Reke or Thornton for him.

I agree. Right now we'd be selling incredibly low on Evans - a player who is being misused and played out of position.

Send Tyreke to Utah for Favors.

Starters:

Cousins
Favors
Batum
IT
Beal/ or Lamb

Bench:
T. Will
Thornton
Thompson
Jimmer
Whiteside
