Kings Jazz deal

Me too.. I wasn't going to touch Chandler because he had so many years to "break out" and it took that change of scenery to finally do so. good call brick.

So what about AK? He's actually produced in the league and for whatever reason while in his prime has gone down in priduction. He's more than capable of getting 15 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks a game on 47% shooting and 75% Ft's

Yes, I called Chandler, and Nene too.

but to be fair and frank, I specifically argued AGAINST pursuing Boozer, thinking that maybe 16 and 10 with bad defense and a mega contract was about high end. Oops.

I claim first on the Nene bandwagon, but yeah, also wrong about Boozer.

don't feel bad, alot of teams were wrong about boozer. there were so many knocks on this guy before he was selected. wow, if the draft was held again.. top 5 in the draft?

AK's become one of the most overpaid players in the league this season and apparently a crybaby. He's being paid franchise player dollars and playing like a scrub.

He's not the only one in the NBA that is like that now or before, or in the future. That's the biggest problem with the NBA and I've said this many times...you only can have 15 players/team * 30 teams = 450 players tops in the NBA and rightfully so only 2 rounds in the draft. There should be no room for fluff on the roster, if a player isn't playing up to expectations then he's done and the next guy comes along and earns his keep. It's like that in the real world, and other sports, why not in the NBA??? ;)

Ehh.. I wanted Boozer last year. At the time, it looked like the Jazz regretted signing him and I wanted to make a play for him, and make that contract disappear for them. It was a taboo suggestion, but I felt even at 16/10, he's much more valuable than anybody we had on the front line. I don't think he was ever really on the block though.

Thoughts on Darko?

Too bad we didn't get him directly from the Pistons per your signature quote he made. Well I can see why the Pistons were made with his lack of production being how high he was drafted, that was one of the best drafts in over a decade. Well Orlando has Howard and some other bigs, they don't need Darko 1/2 as much as we do. We should have used our MLE on him or some other big rather then Salmons...I don't dislike Salmons, but we have a young pup in Cisco who is dirt cheap and if he can control himself just a little more, could really be our Doug Christie.

On Darko:

We'll have to overpay to get him, and we're not in a position to do that, nor would it be wise. I put Varejao in that category also. Both guys will have their pick of mid-level contracts.

Chandler is definitely a prize rebounder, shot blocker and garbage collector (sanitation engineer?) around the rim. Plus, he can run the floor. He's 'xactly what the Kings need inside. Remember his draft day when he weighed about 102 pounds and looked like an anorexic stickman?

OMG - It's JoMama! Missed you, buddy. Hope you are well.

You're probally right. I have always liked his game when he got the chance. I would love to get the guy and put him at PF.

I have always said that Miller needs a good PF next to him to produce, but maybe that statement isn't true anymore because of his age. I forget sometimes that guys don't stay in their prime their whole life =/
