Kings hire Jim Gray for sideline reporting next season

Jim Gray is a joke. Did anyone watch him when he did the Raider's games with Napear? It was embarrassing! Gray is the least talented broadcaster I've ever seen. He may be a good interviewer, but who cares? Since when do I watch a Kings games for interviews? The Maloofs continue to make absurd decisions in areas they know nothing about!
EXACTLY. So why are all of you getting so crazy about this? Its 20 freaking games, and we wont see him that often anyway. Kayte was very good at what she did but im not sitting over here grieving over the loss. Jesus...the draft lottery couldn't have come at a better time.

The people who are upset are worried about issues going beyond just who does an interview. It is part of an overall pattern with MS&E and KHTK that shows a disconnect with fans and an overall troubling trend towards notorious buttkissers.

anyone who thinks Kayte knows more about the NBA than Henry Turner, Fat Lever, or Tank Thompson is an idiot.
Ha! Just painted me with a broad stroke.

Case in point: She can present NBA knowledge more intelligently (and infinitely more effectively), to a fan than all three of those other folks combined. And swisshh is right, this move makes me concerned about the Maloof's meddling again.

There's really no indication that the Maloofs told her to pack her bags, unless I missed something. She's talented and popular, and probably has an offer waiting from a major network to do bigger things than sideline reporting for Kings games. She could have very well told the Maloofs to 'shove it where the sun don't shine, I'm blowin' this joint, peace!' And I wouldn't blame her. Unless you're working a marquee team, you always want a big time multi-market deal over a local one. Even if she doesn't have one in place already, she'll get one in no time.

Not according to Kayte when talking on-air last night to Carmichael Dave. She said she was dumped without any notice - and stunned by it. Went back home to her parents North Calif ranch to recover for awhile from losing two Sac broadcasting gigs on same day but feels something bigger and better may come of it. Said she does not know what that will be but hopes to continue her career in sports broadcasting.
