Kings-Hawks PBP thread for 3/19/07

Greetings, fellow Kings fans!

I have to make a quick phone call and then I'll be back for tonight's game which has now just been cursed by Grant Napear, who says, "We'll be back with tonight's game which the Kings should win..." Why doesn't he just shut up?

A couple of quick observations:

1. I just saw Vitaly Potapenko "warming up."

2. There are fewer people in the seats than are in Arco when the only thing open is the team store. If our board members are there, they should be fairly easy to spot.

3. We are not - thanks to TPTB - wearing the gold lamé. It finally dawned on me that one of the reasons I hate those jerseys is because our rather slow-moving front court tends to blend right into the hardwood...

Looks like the starting lineup for the Kings will be: Bibby, Martin, Artest, SAR and Miller

The Hawks are starting Johnson, Williams, Childress, Smith and Zaza. Maybe. That's the projected lineup from this morning's Bee.

SAR and Ron both came up to Grant and Jerry and commented about seeing an empty arena like Atlanta makes them appreciate the Sacramento fans even more...

Okay, ready for the tip. The lack of people is really un-nerving.

Oops. Not ready for the tip. There's some kind of equipment malfunction and Bob Delaney tells the Kings and Hawks to return to their benches for a moment or two. They're doing a trial run on the shot clock and game clock right now... I can't help but wonder why they wouldn't check those kinds of little details BEFORE the game is supposed to start.

Just spotted my first Kings fan, sporting a Bobby Jackson jersey...

Kings ball. SAR inside, spins and travels with four Hawks surrounding him. Blech.

It's come to that? Looks like Salmons, Garcia, Corliss, Artest and Martin on the court for the Kings. Nothing like a nice traditional line-up... and yes, that's sarcasm.

Artest called for traveling to start the second quarter. Whooo!! We suck!!!
