You know, it's kind of sad that I do not get upset over a loss anymore. There was a time when I loss would put me in a bad mood AT LEAST until the next day. Now it more like "oh well." I'm not sure I like that very much.
I too agree that QD should see major minutes instead of AJ. Just wondering, if it is being done though to evaluate if AJ needs to be re-signed this offseason.
We don't have any PG apart from Beno who is also a FA. Much as we have tried QD, Cisco and Salmons, none has filled the role. While we all want a young, defensive minded, stud PG who can run the team well, penetrate and also shoot well from the outside, where are we going to get one? We shall likely sign Beno to an extension (and he also might cost a lot due to our lack of options), and get him to be our starter. Still need at least one backup, and might be auditioning AJ for that role.
I feel like a lot of the truly good PGs in this years draft are in the Top 5 -10 range. What will be left for the Kings will end up choosing between more tweeners Douby-esque style, or big men which need 2-3 more years to develop. Who would have thought that sucking was so hard to do?
Nor do I. I would much rather we try someone like Price.
That said, a team needs a PG who can get the team in sets and run the offense with a sembelance of order. We saw what happened in the first few games before we picked Beno. Needless to say, such guys are tough to find. Price was a nice, athletic pick up, but he is at least a few years away from running a team, if he ever gets there.
I too don't want AJ to be that guy (first or off the bench). Just thinking aloud about our options though.
