Kings @ Grizzlies Game Thread 11/23

I'd have to watch the whole game before commenting on the refs. But there has always been a correlation between poor officiating and poor game flow. It is one of the reasons that NBA offense is often uglier than international ball.

We lost this one on our own. The refs sucked. We sucked worse. Don't try to pass it off on the refs.
You're close. Kings sucked. The refs sucked worse.

- All the fouls on the Kings in the 1st half and all those fts for the Grizz
- Random travel calls that would never get called in this day and age
- 6 on 5 possession
- Casspi's 2nd technical

The refs killed the Kings tonight, plain and simple.

that's just a very sad excuse for a flat and sloppy night for the Kings. The refs just aggravated our incompetence. They didn't create it.

Wait, what is this "6 on 5 posession" ?

On one play a Grizzlies player was slow getting off the court after being substituted for -- it was no biggee. Should have been called a technical, but his back was turned, he was walking off -- pretty much the same as NFL too many men on the field calls when a guy is late getting off. Didn't make any difference to anything except maybe cheating us of 1 pt.

The Kings played sloppy, yes, but the refs made it a lot worse for them. How are they suppose to get into any groove when the whistle constantly gets blown on them? That results in the coach taking them out and bringing in guys like May and Thomas.

either way the refs made this game not fun to watch at all with all those little tiny touch fouls.. The kings sucked tonight, but yah the refs made this game unbearable. whats next you cant come within two feet of a guy?

I didn't get to see the game, but the last statement negates itself because K9 has actually played harder, tougher and smarter than Hawes and JT on this road trip.

I'm guessing you didn't hear Grant's call on that particular mistake. The way he acted, you'd think the extra player was actually standing in the middle of the paint, waving his arms and hacking Kings players as they tried in vain to point it out.

He ranted for about 45 seconds about them not calling the technical and then found a way to point out that for something close to a nanosecond they may have actually had - brace yourself - SEVEN players on the court.

Every Kings players need to go through a round of slamming the ball - especially JT and Spencer. I don't know why our players can't dunk the ball with authority. Don't just lay it in, slam it in.

Tonights game was bad and sloppy. We need to pass more and rely on each other. I can't stand forced shots - especially when they have no where to go. But we're a young team and hopefully we'll learn from our mistakes.

I must have seen it different than you. I think he actually was in the paint, or just a step out of the paint, and actively guarding a man while we were trying to inbound. Right about the time the pass was triggered, he realized there were 6 on court, turned and sprinted off. He definitely wasn't off by the time the pass was inbounded, and he spent at least 2-3 seconds guarding somebody while our inbounder had the ball. That's not ticky-tack. I think a player not in the game has to be off the court when the inbounder is given the ball, right? I wish I hadn't deleted the recording because I'd like to look at it again, but I did rewind it at the time and it was definitely more egregious than a guy, back turned, one-foot-in, one-foot-out of the court.

It was one of those nights.......poor offensive execution......odd calls by the referees.......Omri's T will be reversed by the league I think..........

Tough teams take ownership of the losses. Defense and rebounding don't take nights off like a teams jump shooting sometimes will.

Memphis is a young team like the Kings but had good front court play by Gay, Randolph and Gasol.
