Kings fans!! Make a concerted effort to attend games this year!

I really want to go to games this year, but me being limited in choice of games is more due to my schedule than anything else. Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays are all out of the picture. So, really that only leaves Tuesdays and Thursdays. :(

It's one of the perks of being a KF veteran. You get to have a little chuckle when a newer member unintentionally makes an erroneous assumption about the gender of a more tenured member.

:)

Maybe I should give him a heads up that Kingsgurl isn't a girl either...:)

I love how a thread about the Kings attendance switched into a discussion about who is a dude, and who is a dudette. This is likely the reason why Kings games dont sell well lately.

Wow. Somebody take a whiz in your Wheaties?

It's all about being light-hearted and having fun. Back in the day when the Kings were on the top of the world, we had a whole lot of fun with things like this AND we managed to grow into the most popular Kings message board on the Internet.

Does somebody need a hug?

Dude...

Some people really can't afford to go, no matter what regardless of whether the economy is good or bad. That's as obvious as the nose on anyone's face. They also can't afford to go to the ballet, opera, rock concerts, Disney on Ice, the Wiggles, the Music Circus, traveling Broadway shows, the Harlem Globetrotters, art galleries, football or baseball games, etc.

I've been there and done that. I could not afford to go to Kings games (or much else, including movies) for years as a single mother. When I finally had some discretion, I went with $10 tickets for quite a while. Now I can splurge for a few games at slightly higher prices.

I'm sure that WileyVet wasn't saying, "go spend money you don't have." I think he was directing his plea more to fans who do have a choice, to please make a choice to go to Kings games more. I plan on doing that, because I'm fortunate enough to be able to make that choice. It means there are other things I won't be able to do, but nothing that isn't discretionary anyway. I'll probably treat my son and DIL to a couple more games this year, too.

I'll make the choice to spend more discretionary funds that way, because its my team and I am worried that the NBA will force the Kings to move if attendance continues to be lousy. I don't want to lose my home team. The only way I can show meaningful support is to spend a little money. Besides, I really miss the old packed, noisy days. And it really doesn't matter to me, if they are good right now. Plenty of fans continue to support their teams bad or good, whether its basketball, football or baseball. Fans don't have to support bad teams. That's the kind of fan I am.

And I'd rather be a dude than a dudette any day.

I'm glad you understand my post! I just want the attendance to go up and keep it up! Go Kings!

Plz dont imply things about me - I don't appreciate personal attacks. I am just here to talk Kings basketball

Mi amigo, that wasn't a personal attack. It was a joke. And, the truth. Kingsgurl is a dude and not a dudette. He uses his wife's membership to post.. So I hope your post is in jest also, but just in case I wanted you to know that no one was attacking you personally. Your not the first one to make the mistake about VF21. Its all good!:D

Call me anything you want, but I am not really excited about the Kings season.. I am excited for the College season though.. GO Memphis! Go UNR!

Anyone else go to the game tonight??

I ended up going with a few friends. Arco looked so empty during the pregame show that we just got up and headed to the game. Walked in midway thru the 1st and got $10 tix no prob. It was a great game too!! We all really gotta make the effort to get to the games! We WILL win more games at home this year if we have more fan support at the games. More wins = more fans = more wins = more fans = more wins = more fans = ..... Whoa my head's starting to hurt haha, but you see what I'm getting at. The team is young and they totally feed off the energy at Arco.

It's real simple and real obvious guys. If the Kings don't turn things around soon (W/L record and fan support) they will not be in Sacramento much longer. Not being able to decide on a new arena is bad. Having a young team going through growing pains doesn't help. Continued poor fan support and attendance is a death sentence. We've been through alot of ups and downs as Kings fans. Go to the games this year and show appreciation for the good times and the bright future to come. Because I'll tell you what, losing the Kings would hurt worse than the lowest of the lows.

I'll be there. I was invited into a suite. Even with a painful broken rib, I wouldn't miss it for the world.
Just don't breathe and you'll be fine. ;) I'm really tired, but I may try to go. It's a game time decision. :D

I can't afford to go all the time, but I hate seeing Arco so empty. :(

I want to go to the game tonight but don't want to sit way the up...
How much are we talking for lower deck if I go to the box office right before the game?

but really my girlfriend had access to free tickets and she turned them down ... we cant go because she has an event to goto tonight.... :(

Well that stinks. You may want to tell her that it is against the law to schedule anything on Kings game nights. That would be the official list of Kings Fans laws. :D

Don't breathe, laugh, yell, scream, or sneeze and you'll be fine...I speak from experience. Only I had a ruptured lung to go along with the ribs..

I was at the game last night...

I've been visiting this forum for a long time, and have finally decided to officially join in the fun! :) I must share that I am a passionate Kings fan as I've been following them for a number of years. I also like how this forum is moderated, thus my decision to finally share my thoughts over here.

For those who weren't able to be at the game last night, I must share that it was AWESOME!! Just being there was so fun, and the crowd was totally into it. One thing that really stood out to me was how well these particular guys seem to relate to one another. There's something very special going on here. Maybe the winning part has a lot to do with it, but I haven't witnessed this kind of camaraderie with a Kings team since the Vlade (& company) days.

Something is definitely happening, and I felt it last night. The thunder is coming back to ARCO!!!! Bring back the THUNDER!!!! GO KINGS!!!!

I was at the game last night, too. It still was not a large crowd at something like 11,000+, but it felt larger. It certainly was louder. There's a way to go, before we get back to real Arco thunder, but there was a different feel to the crowd last night. People were interested, people were excited, people were having some fun and people were loud and on their feet.

The players were excited, happy, supporting each other, talking to each other, on their feet and cheering.

It was great to see. I'm going to hope this is the beginning of another climb up to the dizzying heights, but I'll savor four straight wins right now. :D (Because I know with a loss or two it will be doomsday again among many.;))
