^ Sweet video. However, even the video doesnt capture how loud 4 rows of Kings fans were compared to an entire arena half full of clippers fans lol. Getting to hang out in the visitors tunnel before the game and high five all the players was an AWESOME experience! Im extremely greatful for Cruz dude's efforts.

... I'll give you one for instance. If you get up during the game to go and get a drink or food and try and return to your seat. Not going to happen until there's a time out. Apparently you can leave your seat while they're playing. But you can't return while they're playing. So you stuck in this small hallway with about 40 other people trying to get back to their seats.
I've watched NBA and/or WNBA games in at least twelve different arenas; that's the dumbest ****ing thing I've ever heard.

Thanks CruzDude for all the hard work in putting the event together for the KingsFans group.

I also want to give huge props to Mike0476. He took a lot of video and pictures which I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing once he makes them available. Also, I believe he was the primary voice leading the De-Fense charge when our team was making their move and getting the score down to 5 in the 4th.

If another event is put together we'll be there.

Thanks for the props.

My brother Jesse and I took a lot of pictures and videos. I will upload what I have later tonight as we got home from LA a few hours ago.

He is in the process of making a short movie combining the videos he took along with music and whatever else he decides to come up with.

He hopes to have it done by tonight, if not tomorrow. He has to borrow a friend's computer because the Apple Store couldn't fix his and it's going to be another week before it's done.

Yeah, that was me that started the "DE-FENSE" chants. Usually I keep a low profile at any game much like Geoff Petrie, but with a little liquid courage I was ready to lead the charge. :)

We definitely want to do this again and in greater numbers.

Finally I will also post my thoughts on Downtown LA and the Staples Center. David Jones won't like what I have to say and what I found out as I got some information from the locals.

I just changed the settings to friends and networks.

Does it work for you now?

No dice. Hmmm.

Couple of suggestions without compromising privacy:

#1 - Create a seperate album for our KingsFans experience and apply the setting to "View by everyone." Move your other personal pictures to another album and make those private. Then post a link to the album and it should work.
#2 - We request to add you as friends and add each of us as friends.

Outside the front door of Staples Center. Downtown Los Angeles is beautiful. Downtown Sacramento needs to look like this.

So here my thoughts...

Staples Center looks great on television, but I wondered to myself, "Will their downtown look as bad, ugly, empty and full of homeless people like Downtown Sacramento?"

We left Sacramento around 10:00am and arrived at the Sheraton Hotel at about 4:00pm. To me it's weird to see a hotel attached to a mall, but it's a very good looking hotel and I highly suggest staying at the Sheraton. It's about a 10 minute walk to where Staples Center is located.

When we arrived to Downtown Los Angeles we saw one homeless man sitting on a sidewalk. Two female police officers walked by him and asked if he was OK. He replied with yes and they left him alone. He's not harming anyone and simply enjoying the nice weather.

We made our way to Staples Center and once we got to where the ESPN Zone is located I was in heaven.

This central location of the ESPN Zone, Nokia Theater, Staples Center and other shops and restaurants looked so beautiful. This downtown was filled with people having a good time. It was so vibrant. The word vibrant has been used many times by Mayor Kevin Johnson. I only wish David Jones and others who are anti-arena and/or anti-Maloofs could see this. It was a thing of beauty. I felt so jealous and deprived of what I saw.

I wish those who want to remain a small cow town could witness what I saw that evening. Then again even if they see what I saw they would still offer an excuse to be against any idea of building an arena in the downtown area.

Staples Center has some large concourses and I never once had to worry about bumping into someone. There was so much room to walk around.

The seats were very comfortable too. I'm talking cushioned seats. Not those uncomfortable plastic seats we have at Arco Arena.

There's no way we could fill up an arena similar to Staples Center but their arena puts ours to shame.

The Clipper Nation, as they are referred to, are very vocal. Oh who am I kidding? They acted like they were in a library. It wasn't until we got loud and proud during the second half that they finally responded with some noise of their own.

Looking back at starting the defense chants, I think I would have asked everyone to stand up as we chanted for our team to play defense. Now that would have been a sight to behold.

I can't comment on the food because quite frankly I had none. I just had some liquid courage all evening and wasn't hungry. Perhaps next time I'll try some of their food.

After the game was over the bright lights outside took over. It was just simply amazing to see how nice it looked.

I felt so comfortable walking back to the hotel late at night. We did see one homeless person laying on the steps of some business covered with a blanket.

If it sounds like I am picking on homeless people, well I'm not. They're just one of many reasons why I dislike Downtown Sacramento. I hate being asked for money on a continued basis. They're like zombies and Downtown Sacramento could be renamed Zombie Nation.

I got into Michael Moore mode and began to ask the locals a simple question, "Where are your homeless people?"

One person mentioned to me that they spent a lot of money to clean up this part of Downtown Los Angeles and it was 10 years in the making to do this, plan and build the Staples Center and its surrounding areas. The same person told me they want to have a safe and inviting experience for their community to come visit and have a good time.

Are you reading any of this David Jones?

Another person told me they have officers on foot and on bikes to control the homeless population so people will want to come to this part of town. That's when I was pointed in the direction of this person.

This person works as a private security officer. It's his job to do exactly what person number two told me. If I remember correctly the company that provides this service is called Universal Protection Service.

They basically work for the city and are contracted to do the work so the LAPD can perform their duties to serious crimes leaving the minor stuff to them.

The officer told me they educate the homeless about where they can go to for help, shelter, an education, etc. This is a great service they're doing.

Maybe it's just me but I never see anything like this in our downtown.

Some way, some how everyone got on the same page and created something so beautiful.

I hope this gets back to people like David Jones. I wonder if he and others who share his opinion have ever been to Downtown Los Angeles and seen first hand what they were able to accomplish.

By the way, the Maloofs need to install one of these bad boys.

I had a great time and a wonderful experience going to Downtown Los Angeles.

David Jones, do you see what I see? That's a downtown I could be proud of. What are you naysayers waiting for?

I have two suggestions for the next time we do this.

1. Instead of running right by us in the tunnel, how about the Kings come up to us, shake our hands, take some quick pictures (like a group photo) and thank us for supporting them on the road. I'd love to see the Maloofs there too with us.

2. We need to get more people. I mean lots more. Luckily this time around we had Omri supporters so we had a nice group. I also want to start the defense chants again but this time lets stand up and really be heard.

By the way gas was expensive just north of the Grapevine. When you need to gas up they leave you with no choice.

But the price did go down the further north we traveled back to Sacramento.

one more of the kingsfans.com crew having a good time with the security team!

it was nice meeting a few of you and seeing all the rest of you guys there... i was loving the de-fense chants! that was awesome!

If you guys meet up again for a game im going with you guys for sure... i wanted to get in on the chanting and the thunder sticks....

Since you were close by, how loud were we?

What was the reaction like where you were sitting when we got loud and proud for our Kings?

They took my Thunder Sticks but they didn't take my pride and voice. I have since lost some of my voice but for a good cause. :)

We invited "period" to join us too. He is the luckiest guy I know: his girl friend bought him tickets for Kings-Clips for Valentines Day!! Three cheers for his beautiful lady!! Hip Hip Horray

It's actually "bperiod" ;)...but hey..thanks for the mention and the inclusion all the same. Great time, great fans!!

To add to comments on the area. I stayed at the Holiday Inn City Center, right across the Street from the Grammy Museum that's part of the buildings surrounding Nokia Plaza. I had some trouble getting to sleep after the game. Around 12:30 AM, I got up and watched outside my 4th floor window for about 10 minutes.

The plaza, street and clubs were chock full of people. And I'm sure it went on for awhile. The LA Convention Center is right next to Staples and a very nice-looking, brand new Regal Cinemas was also in the immediate area. Across from me there were two clubs on the second and third floors of the building with outdoor areas. This was just across from the ESPN Zone. There was also a bowling alley on the second floor. This is the plaza with the Nokia Theater, too. A lot of entertainment options and restaurants all right in the same area. It was nice.

So you didn't pop open your prize that Cruz gave you? =)
Oh yeah I did. :D I'd just had way more coffee than usual Saturday. Whew!

For those readers who don't know, as CruzDude pointed out, I was the one who traveled the farthest to get to the game. So I won the prize of an airline-size bottle of E&J brandy. Thanks for the nightcap, even if I still had trouble sleeping. :D

My mistake was not getting one for myself after the string of SNAFU's and hoops we had to go thru for simple tasks.
