As has become basically par for the course, the Kings once again won the lottery tiebreaker coin toss today, meaning that we get 8 combos in the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes while Atlanta gets only 7 combos. (It's weird, we seem to win every single tiebreaker coin toss - it seems that we're in a tie nearly every year and it feels like we've lost maybe one coin toss in the last decade+.)
As a secondary "win", Dallas won the coin toss with Chicago. Since we own the Chicago second rounder, that means that pick will land at #42 in the second round (unless Chicago moves up in front of Dallas in the CF Sweeps) instead of #43.
So I guess we CAN have nice things, for a very limited definition of "nice"!

It's all good until the Hawks pick is the one that shoots up to number 1. Then people complain about not winning one more game. lol.

This is why the Kings can't get out of their own way. Like I said before the last game of the season against Phoenix. We lose that game and we are tied at 39 wins and had a good chance of landing in the top 12 and keeping our pick.
The Kings are the king of winning meaningless games at the end of the season that makes us lose draft position.Now we have to pray we win the lottery and jump up into the top 4 somehow.

the good news is unless we are guaranteed to land in the top ten next year, the 13th pick this season will be worth less than the 11-14th pick next year.

He's pretty high on my list TBH. I can't see some of the international F/bigs lasting that far though. Some them probably rise.

And if the Kings run it back, they would have almost been guaranteed to give up that higher pick next season even if the Kings recede a little. If the Spurs come back with Wemby the West just gets that much tougher.
The sooner we transfer that pick the sooner we can take better control of our destiny. I'm all for a top 4, but I'm not heartbroken if this pick finally transfers and we have certainty about our picks for the first time in YEARS. If it doesn't transfer this year, it is at least another year until it most likely does transfer. Get it over with, already. It frees up some of our draft picks for trades, etc., that are unavailable right now.
In an Athletic player survey, the Kings were voted the 4th worst organisation by players, receiving 10 votes (of 113) for worst organisation. Charlotte was the worst, followed by Washington and New Orleans.
Tyrese Halliburton was voted most overrated and DC got a couple of votes for worst coach. Prob both got a vote from Fox

I think a lot of contenders would be interested in DeRozen if he accepts a bench role!
6th man on a legit championship team has to be more glamorous than starting for us haha, and he's shown that he's still a walking bucket.
I think shipping him off to ring chase would be a win/win. He's been a class act during all the BS last year, dude deserves to play for a legit contender.

Probably prepping to get him to end his career overseas kind of like Sabas did. Yeah, probably a few years away from that one unless they really think an oncoming Kangz dumpster fire has guys willing to leave money behind, lol.
