[Game] Kings @ Celtics - 2/7/16 - 10 PT, 1 ET

It starts with Cousins. He can win a game with a bad attitude, complaining about calls and not giving 100% on the defensive side because he's such a great talent but he will never be able to put together a winning season if he doesn't turn things around.

Someone needs to get through to Cousins and stop treating him like this is AAU

Wrong. It began long before Cousins. The incompetence at ownership level began when the team first arrived in Sac, had a brief golden period under the Maloofs and since then the suck-etude has reigned supreme. New ownership has simply been doing an encore performance. Whether Vlade can pull the team from it's current form of tail-spin remains to be seen.

Cousins has his warts and all but the lack of winning stems from before him. And no, Boston can't have him at least not until he demands a trade.

FYI I do follow the Kings too.

Look at the differences between Boston and the Kings. The Kings have the greatest big man to ever play the game that never made the playoffs. The Celtics have a bunch of "average role players." The difference between the two teams is heart. Boston has guys who bring it every game, when your leaders do that everyone else falls in line with the program. When your leaders complain and don't give 100% effort everyone else does the same. I value chemistry and Cousins isn't good for chemistry.

How will the Kings attract free agents to help build around Cousins? How do they take the next step to make the playoffs? Do we really think free agents are going to be lining up to sign with the Kings? Rondo stats are a little deceiving he's so ball dominate that no matter what he's going to get his stats. Are the Kings going to sign a 30 year old Rondo to a 20+ million 5 year deal? Does Rondo, Cousins and Gay all of a sudden compete for a ring next season? Do we really think coaches that can turn it around are lining up to coach this franchise?

Lets be realistic the big free agents that have signed here are Gay and Rondo not exactly two guys other NBA teams were lining up to sign.

The Kings have Cousins signed for two more seasons after this one. How do the Kings change their culture within that time frame and convince Cousins after the 17-18 season that he should resign with them long term? Unless something drastic really happens I don't believe Cousins will be in a Kings uniform for his next contract

The difference is in head coaching. Karl doesn't coach to his roster, doesn't have the roster he needs but he can't wont or is incapable of adjusting to anything else. Boston plays to the rosters strength. GTFO with this talk of heart. When a team is being mismanaged like Sac...with no apparent adjustments ever by the staff....the coaching job by Karl has been inept and pathetic.

And the criticism on Cousins has been typical fan stuff....always the best players fault.

Here's what Cousins has put up with:
Inept coaching hires
Relocation and Maloofs
Subpar roster
Management fires a competent coach in Malone, the players and Cuz were all in and it looked, promising but oh well
Pace, Pace, Pace more important than what's best for this roster
Karl lobbies to trade Cousins
Cousins puts the Karl BS aside and attempts to make it work....gets no credit for this despite Karl throwing him under the bus
Cousins has played mostly hurt all year...but he has no heart?

If there isn't a major change in fortunes by the middle of next season, then at that point I would have to think you would have to look at pulling the plug on trading him. 'Cause if I were him, I would have to say enough is enough. He has enough heart to want to make it work. In the private sector, is work slow downs ever a good option with disputes with management? Is that what we are seeing? And in work slow downs, the customer is the one always screwed at least in the short term. I just don't buy they don't care, too many alpha males.

I'm still hoping that Divac can work some miracles. I guess that's all fans can do. Right now I'm seeing how this coaching drama turns out. I might be much more pessimistic afterwords or optimistic, don't know.
